You may have won this battle,
but the war is far from over.
Tina: (whispers softly into Bette’s ear) I’m sorry.
Bette (haltingly)It’sit’s ok.
Bette and Tina slowly step out of their hug, smiling
briefly as their eyes met and hold for a moment. Then Bette shoulders her bag
and steps towards the exit.
Bette: Goodbye, Tina.
Tina: Bye, Bette.
Bette: Have a good night
WE will Bette. I’ll see you bright an early tomorrow morning.
Bette almost flinches at Helena’s verbal barb, but
maintains her composure, unwilling to give
satisfaction of knowing how much the words had hurt. She quickly exits The
Planet without saying goodbye to Kit, who is going over an order list in her
office. She quickly gets in her car,
closing the door behind her and gently places her laptop case on the passenger
seat. She turns and unzips the bag, reaching inside and pulling out a flower from
within. Not just any flower. A gardenia bloom, one of Tina’s favorites,
carefully cut from her garden. Bette
worked hard to maintain the plant in Tina’s absence, a great accomplishment
from a person who had difficulty keeping her ChiaPet alive in college. Bette
brought the fragrant flower up to her nose and inhaled. Tina loved the smell of gardenias and often
distributed cut blooms around the house.
Bette sighed as she lowered the flower and traced the delicate petals
with her fingertip.
Bette: What am I doing?
Kit: I’m sorry Bette.
Bette: I’m not. No matter how
hard it was to leave her there with
again. When we huggedGod, I can’t even
begin to describe how that felt.
Kit: Have you called her
since?
Bette: Shewell she was
pretty tied up with the center and we weren’t able to find a time to see each
other again. (pauses) Butwell she said that she was going to give me a call
this weekend to let me know when she’ll be free.
Kit: (smiles) That’s good.
Bette: That’s very good Kit.
Kit: I’m happy for you. So
happy.
Bette: It feels great. Just
knowing that she wants to see me again. (pauses) I’m not going to rush
anything. I know that she’s dealing with this ‘situation’ with
Kit: I don’t understand that
whole thing.
Bette: Me neitherbut I’m
really not in the position to judge her. (pauses) Look, it doesn’t matter. If
things were that serious with
see me, right?
Kit: Right.
Jus then Dr. Harris enters
the office, carrying a large manila folder. She shakes Bette’s and Kit’s hands
before sitting down across from them. Kit reaches over and takes Bette’s hand
in her own. Dr. Harris spends a few moments reading though the results while
Kit and Bette anxiously wait for her to speak.
After a few moments, Dr.
Harris looks up and makes eyes contact with first Kit then Bette.
Dr. Harris: The results of you
bone marrow aspiration have come in and the findings are conclusive.
Bette: Whatwhat did they
find?
Dr. Harris: (sighs) Bette,
I’m sorry
(TBC?)

Bette can’t have cancer. She has had enough trouble in her life. the last year. Just putting up with Helena is like living in hell. We know that something is wrong with Bette, but make it simple to cure.. One of the best on the site right now.

TBC ? Most definitely!! And please post asap, you can´t leave us hanging in suspense – aching to find out what´s wrong with Bette. No matter what it´s my hope that the gang and Tina will get her through it. Because withour our friends and family we´re are nothing. We need their love, affection and support to manage the turmoil we meet in our lives today. So please let Tina drop Helacious and help Bette through.

tibette my computer just crash on me,so i didnt get the chance to comment on your last chapter. i am so happy that you’re not writing bette they way i.c.wrote her. she took almost all of the thing i like most about her away. her strengh,her playful side and turn her into something pitiful.i hope you dont do this our bette in your story. i like another writer on this board [LASTKID] you and she both have the same writing style. tibette dont worry about people not reading this story because its one of the best written story on this board. they have a neww way of keeping count of the readers now. if i was to read this chapter 2 or even 6 times, it would still only count as 1 time. it seem if you go over at least 200 her story has been read by plenty of people. if bette do or dont have cancer, just please let her talk to tina about it. ooo i forgot to say ‘great chapter.
