Tina was expecting that question some time or another, so it didn’t completely take her off guard. She took a deep breath and bit her lip. Bette found it very amusing.
“No.” She eventually replied, even though her answer was a little hesitant. “Henry and I split up after a certain event. I haven’t really considered getting into another relationship. I was with him for three years so… It’s tough.”
Bette reached across the table and placed her hands on one of Tina’s. She was surprised when she felt the blond flinch slightly and she could sense her discomfort. Tina silently cursed at the way her body reacted and tried not to show her disappointment as Bette slowly pulled away.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
Tina quickly shook her head, “Not yet, no, not really. It’s too fresh.”
She could understand, especially after going through something similar with Jodie. Not wanting their conversation to become depressing, Bette decided to jump in with a different subject.
“What do you think of being surrounded by so many lesbians?”
“What do you mean?”
Bette smirked at the feigned innocence in Tina’s question, but she decided to elaborate anyway.
“I mean, you’re a very attractive woman Tina. Don’t you think that there are women in here, checking you out? Would that make you feel uncomfortable?”
If she hadn’t of felt so comfortable, Tina would have been blushing right about now. But she was comfortable and Bette saying those things was only making her smile.
“It depends…”
“What does it depend on?”
A cheeky smile spread across Tina’s lips as she leant across the table subtly. “It depends on who is checking me out, doesn’t it?” She bit down on her bottom lip in an attempt to appear somewhat seductive, before pulling back and winking at Bette.
Bette was in shock. Absolute shock. Her mouth was ajar and her eyes were slightly wider then normal. She could feel her heart drumming against her chest and there was a faint throbbing between her legs. And all of that was caused by the simple action and statement by Tina. What was this woman doing? Bette was beginning to become scared of what the blond was capable of.
