That’s What Friends Are For [Chapter Three]

“I suppose I’m ok. I am dying for a coffee and I am really not looking forward to going back to work. God, it has been a rough day.”

“Tell me about it, I was waiting in the waiting room for like…” She waved her hands wildly, to emphasise how mad it was, “Hours!” She exclaimed.

Bette arched a brow and allowed a smirk to pass over her lips. “Are you still over-exaggerating there, Tina?”

Tina flashed a smile before brushing past Bette, in the direction of her car. It was then that she realised something. There was somebody missing from this scene. Tina turned around and began walking backwards slowly, so she could face Bette as she spoke.

“Where’s Alice?” Her voice was slightly louder; to make sure that Bette could hear her. “Doesn’t she usually come with you?”

“She’s with Dana. They went on a really long jog, much to Alice’s dismay.”

Tina laughed softly and turned back to face the direction she was heading in. When she reached her car, she looked over her shoulder and was surprised to see Bette still stood in the same place. “Bette…” She called out, making the brunette smile slightly. “I’ll see you at The Planet in ten minutes.”

With that said, she climbed into her car and started the engine.

    Chapter Three Part Two:

“How long have you known Alice then?” Tina questioned.

For some reason, she wanted to know as much as she could about Bette Porter.

“I’d say, around ten years. We used to date, back in the day.” Bette laughed. Thinking back now, she had no idea why she got into a relationship with Alice but she was secretly glad she had, because they were such good friends now. “We split up because it was just not going anywhere.”

“What was that like?” She responded, referring to Bette’s relationship with the journalist. “I can imagine her being quite a bizarre girlfriend. Was she?”

“Oh, she was bizarre alright. But, I had a good time, she’s very sweet.” Bette glanced at Tina briefly, before picking up her cup of coffee and taking a small sip. “Are you in a relationship?”
