Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 36

Bette was busying herself with making changes to the script when it was necessary and talking to the design department about some new dresses for the upcoming shooting. At first, it was a little hard for Bette to revisit the events of her past life as each page of the script was bringing back more memories.

Soon it became apparent to her that she had a choice to either dwell on her past and feel lost and miserable or accept that the past was gone and she had moved on with her life and was happy with Tina.

Place: Orange County, CA – Porter mansion

    Year: Dec. 11, 2005 – Sunday

Bette finally made a decision and one Sunday, as they were sitting outside in her pavilion, having breakfast with Alice, Bette said, taking Tina’s hand, “Tee, I told you before that I chose you and a life with you but I was selfish in letting my grief and unresolved feelings for Christina put you as a second priority since we arrived here.”

Tina attempted to say something but Bette silenced her by putting her finger on Tina’s lips, “I know it was hard on you but I was only thinking about myself and my feelings, therefore I was selfish and self-absorbed. But no more, baby. You’re the first priority in my life and always will be, I’m here to stay and I’m yours forever,” she finished, kissing Tina’s fingers.

Tina smiled happily through the tears, leaning towards Bette for a kiss, “I love you, Bette, so very much.”

Alice was so touched by this little exchange that she forgot her usual eye-rolling routine and felt her own tears coming.

She finally cleared her throat to let the lovers know she was still there and they finally pulled away to end some intense kissing. Bette went inside to bring more coffee and bagels, leaving a breathless Tina and a slightly amused Alice to continue their conversation.

“Wow…” Tina finally said, laughing happily.

“Yeah, wow,” Alice rolled her eyes but couldn’t stop herself from smiling. “Anyway, what’s exactly happening with your documentary? I need to understand the process so I can use it in my article.”

    Comments

    1. This chapter was so sweet, I’m waiting for the shoe to drop…anytime an author gives me this much B&T happiness, there has got to be some drama following it soon. I’m thinking it won’t be much longer until Bette finds out that Christina did not die…then….dum..da.dum.dum…duuuuum! Keep writing, can’t wait for your next installment.

    2. In the conversation on page one there wasn’t even a thought from Tina or Alice about telling Bette about Christina. Now that’s bad. True before sex Tina. I guess Tina is hoping that “it’s” so good that Bette will easily forgive her for not telling her sooner.
