Chapter 37: Life has a new rhythm (Go, go, go, go, go, go, go Bette, it’s your birthday, we gon’ party like it’s yo birthday)

(Previously) “About tomorrow’s filming,” Alice air-quoted the word ‘filming’ and wiggled her eyebrows at Tina.

“Oh, that filming,” Tina replied, remembering that Alice and the girls were planning a surprise birthday party for Bette tomorrow. “Give me half an hour and we’ll get ready.”

“Do we have to get up?” Bette pouted, when Alice left them to get ready. “I wanted to have lunch and dinner in bed, and maybe even an afternoon and midnight snacks.”

“Looks like you are getting addicted to my cooking, baby” Tina smiled, giving Bette a kiss.

“Haven’t I told you before?” Bette replied, kissing Tina back, “I’m addicted to everything that is you.”

“Mmm…” Tina moaned as their kiss intensified, “This is so romantic but we have to get up and get some real food. I promise to cook you the most delicious dinner tonight.”

“Finger-licking good and delicious?” Bette asked, winking at Tina and giving her one of her happiest smiles.

Tina nodded, “Yep, you won’t regret it and will ask for seconds and thirds.”

“Well, if you put it this way…I’m ready to get up then,” Bette laughed, gently slapping Tina’s butt, “Can we take a shower together?”

Year: Dec. 19, 2005 – Monday

“Happy birthday, baby,” Tina whispered into Bette’s ear, unable to contain her excitement. Bette moaned in response and turned away, still in a deep slumber. Tina giggled and began softly kissing Bette’s shoulder blades and then moved down her spine. Bette shuddered but her body was still exhausted from the previous night of love-making and refused to be awaken from the sweet dreamland.

Tina gently bit Bette’s ear and whispered again,” Happy Birthday, sweetie.” She got off the bed and went to the bathroom to get ready for work. Bette felt some movements around her and stirred, finally opening her eyes and regretfully getting back to the real world.

“Baby, Tee, where are you?” she asked an empty room and then heard the water running in the bathroom. “Tina, why did you get up so early? Please, come back to bed.”
