Masked Feelings CH 98 Questionable Tension
It still wasn’t easy to speak the truth. Even more, it wasn’t easy to see the pity in everyone’s eyes. When dinner was over, she quickly dismissed herself. Roxy really needed some air at this point and a walk sure couldn’t hurt. Why was this bothering her so much? What difference did it make what strangers thought about her? More importantly, what was Erika thinking about her right now? She barely said a word after she started talking.
Roxy went through the front door and down the stairs. It was much cooler than she thought and turning back around for a coat was not an option. Maybe if she walked faster, she could manage to stay warm. Heavy foot steps followed behind her and a familiar face was there when she turned around.
Adam – You ran out without a coat. Here you go.
Roxy – Thanks, but I’m fine.
Adam – You don’t look that way to me.
He put the coat around her shoulders.
Adam – You look like you need a friend…

Bobby – I’m sorry. I went about this the wrong way.
Marco – Damn, right you did.
Bobby – I want to find a way to compromise and that means something that works for the both of us.
Marco – I’m so mad at you.
Bobby was observing his son’s fist clench and was all too familiar with this reaction. He wasn’t entirely sure what it meant for his son, but he loved seeing the passion. Passion and drive were two volatile combinations he was looking for in a leader. Maybe this link to the woman was just what he needed to get Marco to take the reins.
Bobby – I understand.
Marco – Sure, you do.
Bobby – I know you’re skeptical, but I really do. You’re a good man and I admire you.
Was his a snow job or was this actually a compliment coming from his father?
Bobby – You should see her. She’s at the top of the stairs, the 4th room on the right.
Marco – This isn’t the best place for her to be.
Bobby – On the contrary, it is and if you don’t agree, I will personally pay for the best possible care.

So glad to see you back, brteyes!! How bad do I suck? I can’t believe I missed out on commenting on a post from you. My sincere apologies… Goose needs to be better at checking the site more often. That chapter was great as was this one. I don’t think you have missed a beat with your absence. I loved both updates. I think you are actually improving — the story lines are all advancing nicely. I love the “calm before the storm” moments with Dana and Alice. The mirror thing and the crash at the end are mighty creepy, though. I really find myself intrigued with the Roxy back story. It might be my favorite storyline at the moment. The stuff with Marco is also interesting — the way you are twining his desires with those of his family. It really is so great to get more of this story. I plan to keep reading as long as you keep posting. Thanks!!
nice one, can’t wait to see what’s next. pps
