“Yeah, but we have to get through tonight.”
“Look, they’re pulling away.”
“Great. This whole day has been really a drain. Where’s our daughter? I need my routine!”
“She’s right over there waiting for you.”
Bette went to Angelica and picked her up. She could see the look of happy recognition on her baby’s face.
“Oh, Angelica, you have some real soothing to do tonight. What’s that? Don’t worry, mom, everything will be okay. It will? Yep, but you must always come home to mommy T and me, that’s what makes it better. We’ll protect ya, Mom! ‘Cause we loves ya! Why, I have such a wise and wonderful child. Uh-huh, yes you doI be the wisest baby around’cause I’m Bette and Tina’s kid!”
Tina just smiled with joy at the scene before her, and with relief that Bette made it through this.
Bette kept with her daily tradition and just sat with Angelica. Tina could once again see her face begin to soften, the furrowed brow relax, shoulders release their tension and become a more horizontal plane. Bette put Angelica in the baby swing and keeping with the routine, then went to her T.
“Hug me, T. Tell me this is over now.”
“It’s over, baby. Come on, let’s bring Angelica over here by the table while we eat.”
“I’m not really hungry, T.”
“Yes, I know, babe, but just sit anyway. Keep me company, okay?”
Tina knew that was the stress from the day talking. As soon as Bette would sit down and Tina put food in front of her, she always ate.
So that’s what they did. They ate, they talked, they played with their child. They tried in every way to make it the same as every other day. In their minds they knew this day had not been like any other day. But tomorrow, this day would become yesterday. They both eagerly looked forward to that.
Bette and Tina went to bed that night with all the want and desire clearly brewing inside them. This night it was not the want and desire of sexual release that bound them but the tightly knit cords of emotional trust within those two needs that took these lovers through the night.
Did the death of Faye Buckley bring an end to the drama for the Porter-Kennard home? All their tomorrows will give the answer to that question.

To have or to have not a new big drama very soon, hmmm ? That is the question !
I think we can already expect the inevitable come back of the contemptuous Brit and the carpenter… Anyway, how could we deny that it’s also a pleasure to have a character to hate in a drama story ? And Helena, above all, is such a prime cut !
In waiting, this domestic moment of happiness was very sweet… It’s so good to enjoy a little break before the new drama wave !

Loves how Bette talks to the baby,then answers for her>Kelly is free,let her live a long happier lifenow. Betty and Tina still has rough road to travel. Helena and Candance will do more to them. thamks

RC…what an amazing post! Faye’s death set both Kelly & Bette free from her destructive path, but Bette & Tina still have a bump in their path – Helena. The drama’s far from over because the ‘eye’ of that drama hurricane is Helena. Until she stops, it will go on and on. Hopefully she’ll come to realise that BnT are like duct tape….the more you try to rip them apart, the stronger the bond they build.
