Love Revisited – Coming Home  Part 58

    Previously

Yes, Faye, it’s time to let Kelly Barrett move guilt-free into her tomorrows, and time, once and for all, to let the guilt of her yesterdays be buried with you.

And Bette Porter, looking as she does and being who she is, never knew for the past twenty-two years she would one day be the key to Kelly Barrett’s escape from her haunted past.

As Nancy Richardson exited the courtroom, she had no idea of the script Fate had already written for her future.

and in that script she and Bette Porter will once again cross paths.

It was about 10 am and Bette was busy working in her office.  Being in court the past several days really pushed things behind for her.  She got in at 7:30 this morning so she could make a dent and still allow her to leave at 6 pm.

Aside from this trial, things between Tina and her were going really well.  This being open and up front with your feelings is working – it’s hard work at times, but it’s made such a difference for the two of them.   It’s nice when the arguments or tiffs a couple have are about doing the laundry or going shopping or, ugh, cleaning.

Those little demons in Bette’s head still try tugging at her.  Well, a lifetime of residency makes it that more difficult to evict them.  All she has to do is take one look at Tina and Angelica and it doesn’t take her long to choose the correct option when the monsters are whispering almost seductively in her ear, ‘choose me, choose me.’

The harsh ringing of her office phone knocked her out of her thoughts.

    “Who is it, James?”

    “It’s Nancy Richardson, the DA.”

“Hey, Nancy, there’s a verdict already?”

“No, Bette, there isn’t going to be a verdict in this case.”

Bette’s heart sank.  She always heard about technicalities letting a defendant go free.  She couldn’t bear to hear that.

    “Why, Nancy?”

“Faye Buckley committed suicide, Bette.  They found her this morning.  It’s probably already on the news.”

    1. To have or to have not a new big drama very soon, hmmm ? That is the question !
I think we can already expect the inevitable come back of the contemptuous Brit and the carpenter… Anyway, how could we deny that it’s also a pleasure to have a character to hate in a drama story ? And Helena, above all, is such a prime cut !

In waiting, this domestic moment of happiness was very sweet… It’s so good to enjoy a little break before the new drama wave !
      Thank you !

    2. Loves how Bette talks to the baby, then answers for her>Kelly is free, let her live a long happier lifenow. Betty and Tina still has rough road to travel. Helena and Candance will do more to them. thamks

    3. RC…what an amazing post! Faye’s death set both Kelly & Bette free from her destructive path, but Bette & Tina still have a bump in their path – Helena. RC, you truly are quite talented…thank you for sharing. Please continue. I’m quite curious as to who Helena is next to recruit to go after Bette & Tina for her.

    4. Awesome chapters, rc. Thanks for the twofer! I’m glad that Kelly was finally able to let go of her past. I love your metaphors!! The tenderness you manifest between B&T is soo touching. I can only hope to experience that myself one day.

    5. The drama’s far from over because the ‘eye’ of that drama hurricane is Helena. Until she stops, it will go on and on. Hopefully she’ll come to realise that BnT are like duct tape….the more you try to rip them apart, the stronger the bond they build.

    6. Once again, you have the innate ability of bringing home the message through the words of the characters. I sincerely feel you belong in the top ranks of all the fine fan fic award winners. I eagerly look forward to the continuation of your story and the wild ride you will take us on. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
