Shane walked back into the Planet and sat facing Bette. “Sort things out?”
“Not really no, I know she is hiding something from me but she won’t tell me” Bette was about to speak when Shane carried on “Were we ever like this before…. Before Canada?”
Bette laughed and looked at Tina, both of them nodding their heads.
“why’s it getting to me now then?”
“You had your moments before, not telling each other things but I think this time there is more lying below the service”
“You mean Alice not trusting me yet?”
Tina sighed “She does trust you Shane she is just delicate because she doesn’t want to get hurt again. She is the same with all of us. Not just you, you just don’t see it.”
Shane looked at the women sat before her “She is like this with you too?”
“Yeah, she is short, likes to leave quickly and doesn’t divulge things like she used to. Don’t get me wrong, she is still the same person. Just not as happy and care free”
“Shit” Shane rubbed her hand over her face “well how about we throw a massive party, just like we used to. A nice BBQ one.”
“What’s the occasion?”
“None, just after what you have said I don’t think any of us have done anything like that since before Dana died. It be nice to do something like it”
Bette grinned loving her idea “Next Saturday at mine! Definitely a BBQ slash pool party. Sounds like a plan.”
“Who’s going to come?” Tina asked.
“Us lot of course – you, me, Shane, Alice, Kit, Lara, Helena, Jenny, Shay, Angelica and anyone else we might know…. But then again smaller the better.”
“Cool I will definitely be there.” Shane looked at her watch. “well guys I have to go pick shay up from school but I’ll come round later okay?”
“Bye Shane.”

Shane drove her truck up the drive and started to climb out of the car.
“So did Alice say she would come over?” Shay asked shutting the car door
Shane shut hers also and walked up to the front door. “she said so, but she didn’t promise, she has a bit of work to do but she will see. Alice said that the next forfeit is for her to decide.” Shane replied laughing remembering what Shay had her do.
