“Umm I have to go guys” Alice stood up suddenly
Every pair of eyes looked at her. Feeling a little self conscious she looked away then back at them “What?!”
“where are you going to go?”
“I have some work to do”
“Okay, see ya later”
There was a chorus of ‘byes’ then she was through the door.

Shane looked at the door which Alice had just walked through then back at the faces around the table. “I’ll be right back”

“Hey Alice wait up!” Shane shouted as she left The Planet.
Alice turned around but continued to walk to her car
“Oi Alice” Shane grabbed her arm and turned her around “What’s up with you?”
“Shane that hurts” Alice pointed at the grip she had on her arm.
Shane dropped her hand to the side of her body and took a shaky breathe in “I’m sorry”
“I really have to get some of this work done” Alice made a move to get into her car.
“Alice, I thought we were on good terms again?”
“We are Shane.”
“Then why”
“Why what?”
“Why the cold shoulders, the talking stopping when I walk into a room and disappearing at the first chance you get.”
Alice looked away ‘Busted!’ she thought to her self. As she looked back at Shane she saw her trying her hardest not to shout.
“With Lara coming back and everything”
“Don’t give me that Alice, it was happening way before Lara came back. I thought we spoke, sorted everything out. I know you have issues with trusting me at the moment but I have not done anything that would cause your behavior to me”.
Alice went to lay her hand on Shane’s forearm but shane took a small step backwards.
“Nothing has happened Shane.” Alice sighed “There’s something I need to tell you but I can’t do it this very minute. But I will tell you before you find out from someone else.” She added the last part as a whisper.
“What?”
“nothing Shane, please believe me when I say I will tell you soon, just not now okay?”
Shane knew she wasn’t going to get another answer out of her so let the subject drop.
“Okay Alice. Umm Shay wants to know when you will be around to challenge him on his Playstation again and to upload some of your music onto his iPod?”
Alice smiled. “How about tomorrow?”
“cool, sounds good I won’t tell Shay just incase you know…. You can’t make it.”
“I will Shane”
Shane just nodded her head “I’ll see you tomorrow then I guess. Bye Alice”
Shane walked away leaving Alice to mentally curse her own stupidly over everything that had been going on.
