They were nearly there when the phone rang.
“Fuuuckkk!”
“I’ll get it. It might be the club” Carmen spoke moving across to the thing that had interrupted them.

“Hello?”
“Hey did I catch you at a bad moment, you sound out of breathe.”
Carmen froze, she couldn’t move.
“Yo! Carmen, you still there?”
Carmen shook her head “Yeah I’m still here. How are you?”
“I’m good thanks. How are you?”
“Also good.” She looked at Amanda “Look shane I’m kind of in the middle of something at the moment.”
Carmen saw Amanda’s face change as she said Shane’s name.
“Oh okay, I was just ringing to talk to you. Nothing really important. So I guess I’ll ring you back another time.”
“Okay. Take care shane.”
Carmen put the phone down and walked back over to Amanda.

“Are you ever going to tell her?” she asked softly.
“I asked Alice too, I thought she would have told her by now”
“You can’t ask her best friend to tell her that. You need to do it. It’ll be easier for the both of you.”
Carmen sighed knowing she was right. She had told her everything that had happened and how she still had feelings for her.
“you know you’re really cool about all this. Normally people would run a mile if they knew all the emotional baggage I had”
Amanda laughed and lent in to continue kissing her “I know but that would mean the same about me. We always have people in our hearts” she said between kisses.
“Thank you for being so understanding” Carmen replied in to the kisses
“Ditto”.

Love Lost Love Gained Part 21

@ The Planet a few days later.

The girls were sat around their usual table, laughing and joking away, drinking their coffees.
“So I spoke with Carmen a few days ago”
Alice looked up “How is she?”
Shane frowned “Not sure, she was busy so we only spoke for like two seconds.” Shane rubbed her face with her hand “I haven’t really spoken with her for a couple of months now.”
“Really? I thought you spoke nearly every week?” Tina asked
“We used to but then things starting getting in our way. I had work and she had mixes to do and then there is the time difference”
“Must be tough”
Shane pondered that statement “You know I thought it would be. That not speaking to her for so long would be like ripping my heart out.”
“Shane that’s gross”
shane just ignored Alice “But it wasn’t. Okay it was at first but as the weeks went by and we didn’t talk. Its got easier to deal with things. To think things through. I still love her, don’t get me wrong. I love her with all my heart and soul. But I think this little break has been a great step for us” Shane spoke truthfully; unaware that Lara, Bette and Alice were looking at each other in shock and trying to have a conversation through their eyes.
“So do you think you two will ever get back together?” Tina asked
Shane shrugged then smiled “I hope so, but the ball is in her court now an so far she isn’t returning it.”
Tina reached across for her hand “Like you say she is busy mixing, busy trying to get her face known. She’ll be back before you know it.”
