    Nikki finds Helen, and Tina accepts an unexpected invitation.

     

    “You don’t have to tell me anything, Nikki.”

     

    “But I want to. I want to talk.” As she spoke, Nikki kept nervously wrapping her hand around Helen’s.

     

    “Anyway, this woman called and asked me to lunch. I went, and enjoyed some good food, probably too much very good wine.”

     

    To Nikki, it appeared as if Helen were holding her breath, waiting for the blows to come. She wanted to speed through the explanation, so as not to cause her partner unwarranted hurt. But she also wanted to have Helen understand why she did what she had done.

     

    “I talked about Larkhall. What a bog pit it could be, how many of the women ended up there were trapped in a cycle.” Helen tried to pull her hand free and back away, but Nikki gently kept it captive, not wanting Helen to yet be away. “And through it all, although I never said it directly, all I could really think of was you. The moments we shared, and how you gave me hope.”

     

    “Nikki.” Helen wasn’t sure how this was eventually going to end. Truthfully, she wasn’t sure that she wanted to know how this was going to end. But she was sorry that her partner had spent the day wallowing in her past.

     

    “Through all the talk, all the drink, all the thinking of you, I suppose I got a little excited, a little confused. And…” Nikki looked at Helen who sat beside her, wide-eyed, hanging on every word. “And I kissed her.”

     

    “Nikki.” Quickly, the tone changed. It became disappointment. This time Helen was effective in moving away. She stood and walked across the room.

     

    Undaunted, Nikki followed. “That was it, Helen. All I could think of was you.”

     

    “You kissed her, and that was it.”

     

    “I swear. And you can tell me that I was a bloody stupid cow for doing it, but I know that, already.”

     

    Helen wondered why she should feel surprised that Nikki would find attractive women here. “Do you fancy her?”

     

    “No, Helen. That’s what I’ve been trying to say. I was thinking of you. You weren’t there.” Nikki placed her hands on Helen’s shoulder, and was grateful that the other woman stayed up. “Helen, I love you.”

    2. Ooh, upping the stakes, are we, Tina? The “Look at what’s not yours” is an unspoken challenge that I hope Bette takes Tina up on… and soon. The talk between Helen and Nikki was very nice indeed. Please post more, and I hope you find reason to remove that question mark. I’m really enjoying the story, so carry on as you can please.     5. great to read another quick update. Just re-read from chapter 1(couldnt remember why helen/nikki were even in america!)-its progressing well-am intrigued with where you are going with this- i.e will anything happen between bette/helen nikki/tina

    6. I’m nobody’s enabler, missy, so I’m just going to ignore the question mark. As I see it, it’s simply a bold, straight forward “TBC!”. You know, I’d stopped watching Bad Girls after Nikki made her escape to share a night of passion with Helen. I found it idiotic and insufferable (I don’t see Nikki as an idiot), but with your return with this (and that reunion I saw on Youtube) I think I’ll keep an eye open for episodes I haven’t seen. And no question marks, I await new episodes from you as well.

    9. loving this story,i just started watching BAD GIRLS last year and just love NIKKI AND HELEN to bad their not on the show no longer,also love BETTE AND TINA and putting these two couples togather it’s awesome. PPS
