    Author Notes:

    Bette and TIna talk to Jess and Jess get ready for her 16th birthday.

    “Where are you going?” Bette asked.

    “Into Shannons and Angelicas room.” Jess said.

    “Shes sleeping.” Bette said.


    “I know so she wont be screaming and throwing a fit.” Jess said going into the other room and shutting the door.

    “Ian you are going to wake your sister. I am going to give you to the count of three and then you are going to get a time out.” Bette said. He looked right at her and got louder.

    “Ian” She said loudly. “Okay have it your way lets go time out for you.” She walked over and picked him up. She then sat him in the corner. He tried to get out but she wouldnt let him. “No you are going to sit there for 3 minutes and every time you get up it starts over.” She told him. The battle went on for 20 minutes before Tina came up to see what was going on.

    “What is going on?” She asked.

    “He is sitting in time out.” Bette said.

    “What did he do?” Tina asked.

    “He was throwing a fit because Jess wouldnt let him watch a tape while she was doing homework.” Bette said.

    “How long has he got?” Tina asked.

    “He is going to sit there for 3 minutes” Bette said.

    “Okay.” Tina said and left the room to let Bette handle it. The battle went on for another 15 minutes. Eventually he sat there for 3 full minutes. Bette didnt know if it was from exhaustion or because he finally understood and quit testing her. After the 3 minutes Bette took him in her arms and held him.

    “See 3 minutes isnt that bad.” Bette said. He sniffled.

    “Yes it is.” He mumbled. Bette held him tighter.

    “I love you and you have to learn you cant always get your way. Even with Sissy.” Bette told him. She stood up with him and walked out the bedroom. She opened the door to the other room. Jess was holding Angelica and doing her homework.

    “You can have your room back now.” Bette said.

    “Okay.” Jess said.

    “When did she” Bette said.

    “About 20 minutes ago. I was waiting for him to stop before I put her back down.” Jess said.

    2. I am enjoying the story as well. I am confused though as to how Jess is now sixteen when she was only seven when Bette and Tina met. I clearly missed some years, I had no idea nine years had passed…will have to go back and read again! Thanks!

    3. It appeared that Jess only bonded with Ian she rarely every mentioned teddy or did anything with him. So i am a bit confused that bette and tina stated she looked after the boys.

    5. i like your story so much and you know that! i hope Jess will be more understanding with her moms, i can’t wait for the party and for the shopping car day!

    7. Jessie has always been the best big sister especially to Ian. Even though at times Jess may have felt like she was loosing her place in Bette’s life she was always there for her brothers. It is nice to see that Bette and Tina have figured that out and are trying to let Jess be the sister instead of the mini parent. This is a great story in that it shows a committed couple can be good storytelling. Now, if IC and company can get that through their thick skulls the show would be fun to watch again.

    8. When my boys were younger,we put a revoling door in, [not really] Having a house full of hairy leg boy were the good old days. Love this story, Jesse was always a smart girl and took all the special classes. so I can see her being a senior in H/school thanks

    9. hey i’ve been reading simnce 8;30 pm only had to catch up 3 wks of this story..what a wonderful story so well written love how everyone blends together love jesse she’s amazing–love your tina and bette too –it’s so believeable(sp)? can’t wait to see what happens next–
