    Author Notes:

    Bette and TIna talk to Jess and Jess get ready for her 16th birthday.

    “Thats right.” Jess said to Lizzy but not into the microphone.

    “So we would like to invite all the kids in the stadium onto the field for a one inning game. With us tonight.” Jess said through the microphone. All the kids cheered. “Okay everybody to the field.” Jess said. Lizzy stood and grabbed Jesss hand. All the kids in the stadium not just the ones from the center but all of them hurried to the field. Jess walked up to where Ian and Teddy were.

    “Come on guys do you want to play?” Jess said with Lizzy beside her.

    “Yeah.” They said.

    “Jess I think the are to young.” Bette said.

    “Come on Mom relax, you cant protect us forever.” Jess said taking Ian by the hand. “Shannon arent you coming with Teddy.” Jess said heading to the field.

    Later-Home

    Jess sat at her desk doing homework. Ian walked in the door.

    “Hey buddy I cant play now I have got to get some work done.” Jess said.

    “Can I watch Little Bear?” He asked holding up the tape.

    “Not now I need to finish my homework.” Jess said. He was not to hearing no from Jess.

    “Please.” He begged giving her a puppy dog face.

    “Ian I said no, and dont give me that face. I was the one who taught it to you remember.” Jess said taking the remote from him and putting high on the shelf. He started to scream when she took the remote from him. Bette walked in with a laundry basket full of clothes.

    “Whats going on?” She asked.

    “I am trying to do my homework so I can go out tomorrow and he wants to watch a tape. When I took the remote from him he started screaming.” Jess said sitting back down at the desk.

    “Ian I told you that you couldnt bother sissy when she was doing homework.” Bette said.

    “Hmm” Jess said under her breath.

    “But I want to watch a tape.” He said loudly. Jess went back to work she was going to let her mom handle this one.

    “I am sorry sweetie but you cant right now maybe later.” She said sitting the basket on the bed. He started to throw a fit. Jess got her book and laptop and headed into Shannon and Angelicas room.

    2. I am enjoying the story as well. I am confused though as to how Jess is now sixteen when she was only seven when Bette and Tina met. I clearly missed some years, I had no idea nine years had passed…will have to go back and read again! Thanks!

    3. It appeared that Jess only bonded with Ian she rarely every mentioned teddy or did anything with him. So i am a bit confused that bette and tina stated she looked after the boys.

    5. i like your story so much and you know that! i hope Jess will be more understanding with her moms, i can’t wait for the party and for the shopping car day!

    7. Jessie has always been the best big sister especially to Ian. Even though at times Jess may have felt like she was loosing her place in Bette’s life she was always there for her brothers. It is nice to see that Bette and Tina have figured that out and are trying to let Jess be the sister instead of the mini parent. This is a great story in that it shows a committed couple can be good storytelling. Now, if IC and company can get that through their thick skulls the show would be fun to watch again.

    8. When my boys were younger,we put a revoling door in, [not really] Having a house full of hairy leg boy were the good old days. Love this story, Jesse was always a smart girl and took all the special classes. so I can see her being a senior in H/school thanks

    9. hey i’ve been reading simnce 8;30 pm only had to catch up 3 wks of this story..what a wonderful story so well written love how everyone blends together love jesse she’s amazing–love your tina and bette too –it’s so believeable(sp)? can’t wait to see what happens next–
