Bette purposely parked around the corner from The Planet so she could run in and pick up the order Tina had already phoned in.
“Wait here, I’ll only be a minute,” she said.
“K,” Helena slurred. “Where are we?”
“I’m picking up something to eat and then we’re going to my house.” Bette slipped from the car and made a dash for The Planet’s back door, where Kit was waiting with the order.
“Hello stranger,” Lara said warmly. She rushed from the kitchen as soon as she could when she heard Shane was in the front of the house. “It’s been too long.”
“I could say the same to you,” Shane allowed herself a small smile. “Although I hear you’re doing some pretty cool things here.”
“Ah, but you know where to find me,” Lara wasn’t about to be charmed. “What’s been going on?”
“Not much really,” Shane wasn’t about to be cornered. “Just working really hard these days.”
“That may fly with everybody else,” Lara said, taking Shane’s hand, “but anytime you skip coffee here for more than a day or two, something’s up. You know you can always talk to me, right?”
Lara’s words were said with her trademark gentle kindness, something that touched Shane more deeply than she thought possible. As she fought back the urge to choke up, she gathered Lara into a quick hug. To anyone who noticed, it was a simple gesture of affection between friends, but to the tipsy Helena, who witnessed the exchange through the front window, it was something entirely different, something she would figure out when she had her wits about her. She was back in the car, sobering up very quickly, long before Bette returned.
Dana reminded herself to breath. Alice hadn’t spotted her, but she’d seen Al the moment she walked in, stunning in simple matching tan slacks and a scoop neck tee. Alice lit up when her eyes found Dana’s, instantly recognizing the lusty look on her wife’s face.
“Behave yourself,” she murmured into Dana’s ear after kissing her hello, “or I won’t be able to control myself.”
“Control is way over-rated,” Dana whispered back, staring at Alice’s bright red earlobes, a sure sign of her arousal.
“Damn, how can you do this to me with just a look?”

hiya SG! In total agreement with everyone else on how great your total storyline development is clicking along! I was hungry for a double cheeseburger after reading your update–am looking forward to more Shane and Beth–this is a twist on Shane that I quite like. Overall, the sense of true friendship comes from your writing- and that makes it way too easy to get invested in your stories! Good stuff…and thanks for the update!
Crap, Helena’s insecurities have come to play. I hope Lara and Helena can work things out. I adore Alice and Dana, they are just SOOOOO cute!
I was just about to shut down the computer and go to bed when I thought I give the site one last check, and I’m so glad I did. I know I’m saying this for the millionth time, but you really do get better every single time you post. It’s amazing to me how you can get me so invested in every single storyline. I doubt there’s ever been a movie, show, book, or anything else that’s managed to do that. This was an excellent update, and it really laid the groundwork for a lot of things to come. Can’t wait to see how everything plays out.
First let me second and third everything MT said in her comments. I am a Danish shipper, but, I find myself invested in all the relationships in your stories. I love the tentative steps that Shane and Beth are taking. So sweet. Helena and Lara are in trouble. I think they need to talk more than they need to have sex. I hope they can get it together since they seem like they are good for each other. Bette and Tina seem to be OK. For now. Stupid TAs. I just adore how you write Alice and Dana. The love, lust, support, respect, joy, etc, etc… is wonderful to read. Talking to the baby is so cute. I can’t wait to see what the plan is for the tabloids. I’m glad Dana is so calm about it — she doesn’t need the stress right now. I’m worried about Alice going back to that hotel. At least Dana will be there with her. I caught up! YAY I read this one aloud too and I have to say it makes my ears hot lol. Awesome update mama I wasn’t expecting the Shane Helena Lara triangle Shane is going to be really fucking surprised to learn she’s in a love triangle eh? I also have to comment on the toothpaste because its so beyond disturbing but the perfect kind of throw away that we are so accustomed to. No Danish sex :( sad face because you know how I love the hot hot heated sexy time they bring or you bring I’m not sure which but yeah I need a lot of that next chapter. I did however enjoy the end scene with Dave and the baby its good that they’re getting aquatinted ahead of time also its beyond adorable. I can’t wait for the next chapter but I hope you won’t make me wait too long (that means I want a snippet) love you mama b! Post Soon!

As always, amazing. I have to agree with Clozzy tho, the lack of Danish lovin’ made me a little sad, but only a little. Also, I love Helena and Lara together, so congrats on making me nervous! haha.
