Just The Girl – Chapter Thirty Five (a HYD-inspired fic)

“He’s just being a jerk.” Tina gently said as she stroked the back of Bette’s hand with her thumb. “Don’t let him get to you babe.” She smiled as she began to lead Bette towards the entrance of the ride once more.

“I’m trying.” Bette sighed wearily. “The only reason why he’s still alive is because I don’t want your relationship with Jenny to get strained.” She admitted with a shrug. Nothing could bring drama to a solid friendship than warring lovers.

Tina looked at Bette and couldn’t help the smile that graced her lips. Yeah, she thought as she squeezed Bette’s hand lovingly, she would have a lot of making up to do after this date. She just had to give her sweet, yet irritable girlfriend a reward before the day ends.

    ————————————————

“Elmo!” Tina screamed as they entered the Sesame Street Bay of Play attraction. She dropped Bette’s hand and made a mad dash for the giant orange ship where Elmo and the rest of the Sesame Street gang performed on top. “Excuse me..” She chanted over and over as she pushed a couple of kids out of the way and elbowed a few parents here and there. “Elmooo!!!” She jumped up and waved her arms around as she made it to the side of the ship, right below the spot where the person inside the Elmo costume danced and waved at the crowd. “I love you!!!” She practically fainted when the little red monster blew her a kiss. “Eeeeeee!” She screamed all giddy, she loved everything Elmo since she was a little kid in North Carolina.

“Mmff.” Bette bit back her laughter as she observed her girlfriend from a safe distance. She never knew that Tina was a big Sesame Street fan, she thought in amusement. She had to smile at the little things that she was knowing about Tina every day, most of her quirks were so damn endearing that she couldn’t help but fall a little deeper in love with the blonde.

“Shake it Tina!” Jenny cheered as Tina began swaying her hips round and sing along with the mascots. Her best friend was so lost in her own little Sesame Street world, paying absolutely no attention to the fact that she was bopping along to the music with a couple of five year old kids.

    1. Strike one up for Bette. She is standing up to her father and showing Tina the depth of her feelings at the same time. After growing up with unlimited riches, I think it would be extraordinarily difficult to be left penniless. I hope Bette returns after reading Tina’s letter. Great story!

    2. I have been gone all day & am just know getting achance to catch up on my Fav. Fic. This was another awesome update…makes me want to go to Sea World minus the breaking up part. I hope they work things out-w/ a little help from Alice & Shane. I have just 1 request…please no more Max.

    3. First of all LMAO at Daddy Kennard being heartbroken about getting a promotion. Then what the hell is Tina thinking throwing things out there without explaining first…we all know Bette reacts at the first word and doesn’t listen. However, Bette better start listening if she doesn’t want to become just like Melvin…alone and bitter.

    4. first?????? youpiiiiiiiiiiiken is so funny? How did he work out promotion = fired?PMSLNow it s time for he F4 to show their support to their leader, help Bette fae and beat her father on that challenge. Great chapter, very funny with Tina’s dad but sad that Tina and Bette fought. They need each other right now to be strong against Melvin.PPS
