Just The Girl – Chapter Thirty Five (a HYD-inspired fic)

“Hey Bette..” Max whispered as he nudged the girl beside him. Jenny was so wrapped up in watching and laughing at her best friend to notice the exchange that was subtlety taking place between the two.

“What?” Bette whispered back through clenched jaws, not bothering to tear her eyes away from Tina. She didn’t want to look away from her girlfriend’s calming image, knowing fully well that the dickhead beside her would be intentionally pressing a few of her buttons. At least the wonderful sight of Tina dancing her ass off would keep her anger at bay.. hopefully. She crossed her fingers.

“Why don’t you come up the ship and dance along with the mascots?” Max grinned. “You’d make a better, grumpier Oscar.” He laughed as he slapped Bette’s back playfully. He was finding the act of irritating the shit out Bette to be quite fun. After all, he didn’t like the heiress one bit. She was rude and ill-mannered. He wasn’t scared of the fact that she was rich. Aside from the brunette’s biting tongue, she looked harmless enough. “I think you’d look good inside that trash can..” He laughed as he pointed to the dirty tin can that Oscar the Grouch was in.

“So would you.” Bette smiled stiffly, counting to ten inside her head. If this guy didn’t stop soon, he would find himself rolled up inside a thick Persian rug and dumped underneath a mountain of garbage. “Hey you!” She quickly replaced the frown on her face with a bright smile as Tina came bouncing back to them.

“He was sooo cute!” Tina laughed as she launched herself into Bette’s arms and placed a quick kiss on her girlfriend’s lips.

Bette shook her head and smiled as she continued to hold on to the blonde. “I think you can give him a run for his money.” She whispered into Tina’s ear and grinned.

“Shall we go?” Jenny asked as she pulled out the map from inside her bag. “Where do you guys want to go to next?” She bit her lower lip as she studied the park map. “Penguin Encounter? Sky Tower? Shamu Show? Dolphin Discovery? Pacific Point? Shipwreck Rapids?” She suggested as she read some of the rides and shows on the map.

    1. Strike one up for Bette. She is standing up to her father and showing Tina the depth of her feelings at the same time. After growing up with unlimited riches, I think it would be extraordinarily difficult to be left penniless. I hope Bette returns after reading Tina’s letter. Great story!

    2. I have been gone all day & am just know getting achance to catch up on my Fav. Fic. This was another awesome update…makes me want to go to Sea World minus the breaking up part. I hope they work things out-w/ a little help from Alice & Shane. I have just 1 request…please no more Max.

    3. First of all LMAO at Daddy Kennard being heartbroken about getting a promotion. Then what the hell is Tina thinking throwing things out there without explaining first…we all know Bette reacts at the first word and doesn’t listen. However, Bette better start listening if she doesn’t want to become just like Melvin…alone and bitter.

    4. first?????? youpiiiiiiiiiiiken is so funny? How did he work out promotion = fired?PMSLNow it s time for he F4 to show their support to their leader, help Bette fae and beat her father on that challenge. Great chapter, very funny with Tina’s dad but sad that Tina and Bette fought. They need each other right now to be strong against Melvin.PPS
