“Well Al I would say that you perfected the craft.”
“It’s opened quite a few doors for me so don’t be knocking the gift, Porter. But then again it’s gotten me kicked out of more places than I care to mention. Well anyway it’s how I do me. I do me and you to you, anal all the way”
“Okay coming from your crazy ass, anal would be a compliment. So I take your remark and file it. You know us anal folk… have to keep even the shit in order.” Bette replies
“Bette, really you are anal.” Alice says quietly
“I know Alice, but who wants to be told that they’re anal?”
“I was raised to speak my mind and…”
“And you do” Bette says quickly cutting Alice off
“What I was says” Alice quickly begins again, “before I was sooo rudely interrupted was I was raised to speak my mind and stand up for what I believe in. I think that is one of the things that makes me such a good friend. I don’t tell people just want they want to hear. I tell them what I think that need to hear.”
Bette nods in agreement
Alice rapidly goes on to say, “I know that I can be blunt, rude, crude, silly, and honestly down right nosey but my intention are good and honest. I search for truth. That’s one of the reason that I became a writer. Even though lately I’ve been getting some of the crappiest assignments. Like Saturday after you called me the magazine told me that they want me to do an interview with that woman from Flashdance, Jennifer Beals, like who cares, she’s a has been. Shot Bette, after thirty years she must look a hot mess. They say some new show she’s going to be part of is coming out on Showtime that there such a hush over.”
Alice takes a breathe after that run of information
“Okay enough about me. The topic at hand is your straight girl crush. You got a plan? As anal as you are I know you do.”
“Oh my god Alice what am I going to do with you?”
“Love me, but only as a friend”. Alice says smiling and raising her eyebrows.

I must say Alice is taking this way better than I would if Bette broke up with me. Actually, I had a hard time picturing the two of them as lovers in the show…friends yes…lovers no. Have a great time in Chicago…JB’s home town…and have a Happy Birthday Kimberly!!!!
