“Yeah right Porter. So now tell me who is this bitch you dumped me for?”
Chapter 6
“Alice she isn’t a bitch. She hasn’t even come on to me. But I do know that she is at least interest.” Bette smiles
“Interested, what do you mean by interested? Did she melt into a puddle on the floor in your presence or what? Details, porter details. Out with it.” Alice digs
“Well actually you met her Friday at the opening. I saw when Eric introduced you to her. ”
“Eric, the only one Eric introduced me to was his……..girl…friend, Tina. Oh fuck, no Bette, say it ain’t so, say it ain‘t so. You’re going after a straight girl with a boyfriend? Are you crazy?”
Bette cringed as Alice spoke the words out loud, because that is what she was about to do.
“I know that yours powers over women are abundant. But are you sure about messing with a straight girl with or without a man in her life? I know we bi women can be iffy, but a straight girl, Bette are you serious?” Alice says looking at Bette confused
“Yes Al, I am. I do have to admit it scares me but I never wanted something or someone so much in my life. The truth is I‘m not really sure why.”
What do you mean you don’t know why? You dumped.. me. Sorry Bette. Mute point. Cause you were going to dump me anyway. Okay anyway. You don’t know why? Explain this to my simple mind, would you?
“Well I’m feeling this connection and I don’t know where it’s really coming from.”
“How about your hormones Port Dog, hear of them? Shoot I can hear them.”
“No Alice, it’s not just that.” Bette laughs at Alice’s reference to her
“Yeah, she’s beautiful, I think she’s actually gorgeous, but Alice you know I’ve been out with a lot of drop dead gorgeous women in my life. But this is different and I want to find out what so different about this woman. She intrigues me” Bette says as she smiles looking spacey, she zones out.
“Earth to Porter. So what’s so intriguing about this Tina?” Waving her hand in front of Bette’s face to snap out of it, Alice asks

I must say Alice is taking this way better than I would if Bette broke up with me. Actually, I had a hard time picturing the two of them as lovers in the show…friends yes…lovers no. Have a great time in Chicago…JB’s home town…and have a Happy Birthday Kimberly!!!!
