“Hey Tk. Where the hell have you been?”
“Hey Shane. Just needed to get away. Went to the beach. Sorry I didn’t call you but wanted to do some thinking.”
“Are you on your way back?”
“Yes.”
“Got time for coffee?”
“Yes. I grabbed some at a gas station and am not sure if I will ever get that taste out of my mouth. I’m about 20 minutes out.”
“Want to meet at The Planet?” My first thought was that there was a possibility that Bette would be there.
“How ‘bout Cuppa’s instead? I still need to go home before my first appointment and that’s closer to home.”
“Ok. I’ll meet you there.”
I drove the rest of the way there listening to Coldplay and hoping that Shane would not ask too many questions. I didn’t have much faith in that.
I pulled up and didn’t see her truck. I went inside and ordered a bagel, some fruit and a large coffee. As I waited for my order to come, I looked through my appointments so I could get a feel for the day and none of them were ones that should be problematic. Just as my order was being delivered, Shane walked in. She ordered coffee and Danish. For someone who looked anorexic, she rarely ate real food, unless I was preparing it for her. She leaned over before sitting and kissed my cheek.
“TK, what the hell? I was worried sick about you.”
“I’m sorry Shane. I just needed to get away and went to beach. I should have let you know. I’m also sorry for messing up your Saturday night.”
“Don’t even worry about Saturday. Missy Kelner, this babe I’ve been trying to hook up with was at that party I told you about.”
“Did you hook up with her?” She made it seem so easy.
“I did. So I probably should thank you. So did you clear you head?”
“For the most part yes, I did. I need to work on some things but I think that the biggest things are ok.”
“Are you going to talk in circles?” She smiled at the waitress who put her Danish and coffee in front of her. I think it’s just automatic for her to flirt.

I like that Tina and Shane are friends it’a great twist to how they all become framily. Weli, we are set up for the conversation and I’m ready to hear it as soon as you are ready to post it. And I will try to be patient.
Love it. Tina is always obsessed by Bette’s behind. Don’t see the reason myself. Anyway, great chapter and the time is upon us to hear their talk and I can hardly wait for it.Pleasepost as soon as possible.

i also like the friendships that are forming… and its funny how both tina and shane know alice has a big mouth… and now the time has come for bette appointment… i thnk when bette leaves and they say goodbye… bette should pull tina in for a KISS… and to be continued when they both can continue their love story… loving this… PPS

Gosh, I’d all but forgotten about Jiffy Pop. I’m trying to decide whether Shane’s motives for warning Tina about Bette were altruistic or a little self serving due to how she feels about Tina. I love their friendship however…each of them have a close friend to rely on. You’re the best NAG…wonderful update…awaiting the next!

I was blown away by Shane’s sense of intuition. She nailed the problem – no wonder Tina avoided her most of the weekend. Although the information was less than positive about Bette, Tina is intelligent and will not allow her emotions to rule. Love the way you are handling the dialogue – it is really moving. Well, I’m on the same page as Tina. I have to say that the Melvin-on-the-phone scene with JB’s white-stripey-pj-clad ass was a highlight of the series for me. Now, let’s get Bette moved on with Steve, and get the Bette & Tina show on the road!
So Tina is really struggling with this thing with Bette. Shane is so wrong about Bette not doing relationships. She did not do them until this one therapist entered her life. I have a feeling that Bette is willing to settle down once she and Tina are able to go out together.
