If You Never Say Anything to Me ch.15

“Shane, your friendship with them is great. You meeting new people that you could be friends with and not necessarily sleep with is what we talked about and I’m so proud that you’re doing it. When I’m free, I would love to hang out but make plans that work for you. Don’t worry about me.” She smiled at me reading right through my bullshit but not calling me on it.

“My new movies from Netflix arrived today. Want to watch a movie with me?”

    “Which one?”

“The Air I Breathe. It’s a drama based on an ancient Chinese proverb that breaks life down into four emotional cornerstones: happiness, pleasure, sorrow and love. When I heard about it, I thought that it sounded interesting.”

“Sounds boring but if you’ve got popcorn, I’ll watch it with you.” I got up and went into the kitchen. I had recently found Jiffy Pop in the store and bought a couple. When I first saw it, it brought back memories of my childhood and has a homemade taste that no microwave popcorn can match. I turned on the stove and placed it on there while waiting for it to get hot. As I waited, I grabbed a bowl, some napkins and some beer and put them on a tray. When I heard the sizzling, I started shaking the popcorn and watched as it popped. It always brought a smile to my face. When it was done, I turned the stove off, poured it into the bowl and went back out to Shane. She had put the movie in and pulled the cushions off the couch and pulled it out so we could lie on the bed. I handed her a beer, grabbed one for myself and put the popcorn between us.

Within minutes after she finished the popcorn and her beer, she was asleep. I wasn’t too far behind her.

When I woke the next morning she was gone with a note thanking me for dinner and telling me if I had time to meet her for coffee. I looked at the clock, threw on some clothes for running and took off. I showered and went to work after. I didn’t have time to meet her. My appointments were all pretty easy and I spent the rest of the day working on the article that quickly had a deadline approaching. I didn’t talk to Shane and she didn’t come for dinner. I went to bed early and slept well.

Wednesday was finally upon me and I woke feeling good. It was the day that I got to see Bette again. I went for a long run and then ate some oatmeal after I showered. I stood in front of my closet for longer than I should have hoping that something would jump out that would scream sexy yet understated. Nothing did. I finally settled on a pair of peach linen pants with the matching top. I slipped into a pair of comfortable sandals, checked my hair and makeup and headed to my office. I wanted a few minutes to get my bearing before Bette arrived.

I tried to do some paperwork but wasn’t able to concentrate. I kept looking at the clock. Time didn’t seem to be passing at all. I finally just put the paperwork away. Today was not going to be the day that I was able to finish it and all it was doing was making me more frustrated. Finally, I heard the outer door open and I knew that it was Bette. She was always on time.

I took a deep breath and walked out to the waiting room. She was sitting there looking as lovely as ever and as usual, she made me have a hard time formulating my words. I said my usual, “Hi Bette. Glad that you could make today.” After she gave me her wonderful smile, she got up and entered my office. My eyes followed her ass probably a little too long.

    1. I like that Tina and Shane are friends it’a great twist to how they all become framily. Weli, we are set up for the conversation and I’m ready to hear it as soon as you are ready to post it. And I will try to be patient.

    2. Love it. Tina is always obsessed by Bette’s behind. Don’t see the reason myself. Anyway, great chapter and the time is upon us to hear their talk and I can hardly wait for it.Pleasepost as soon as possible.

    3. i also like the friendships that are forming… and its funny how both tina and shane know alice has a big mouth… and now the time has come for bette appointment… i thnk when bette leaves and they say goodbye… bette should pull tina in for a KISS… and to be continued when they both can continue their love story… loving this… PPS

    4. Loving this story. You may be creating a rush at the grocery store for Jiffy Pop! We got some last winter just so our daughter could have the experience.

    5. Ooookay so it’ Wednesday in fanfic land…Bette gets an appointment with new therapist on Thursday…Look it’s Friday! Is that too soon for a date? Come on that’s like three weeks in fanfic time. LMAO.

    6. love how tina and shane are friends, and that shane is looking for tina as for as bette is concerned… alice big mouth as usual… lets see how things go in therapy, love this story :)PPS

    7. Gosh, I’d all but forgotten about Jiffy Pop. I’m trying to decide whether Shane’s motives for warning Tina about Bette were altruistic or a little self serving due to how she feels about Tina. I love their friendship however…each of them have a close friend to rely on. You’re the best NAG…wonderful update…awaiting the next!

    8. Yes in most if not all stories Alice continues with the big mouth. LOL I do like the Shane/Tina friendship. Looking forward to Bette reaction to “future possibilities” with Tina.

    9. Love the Shane and Tina friendship… you write their dialogue and support so well. Is it possible to follow Bette’s ass too long?? Who could blame her?? Can’t wait for their conversation!

    10. Yoda has spoken but this time she’s wrong about Bette and hopefully Tina doesn’t get scared about Bette’s track record. Can’t wait for the next chapter NAG

    11. I was blown away by Shane’s sense of intuition. She nailed the problem – no wonder Tina avoided her most of the weekend. Although the information was less than positive about Bette, Tina is intelligent and will not allow her emotions to rule. Love the way you are handling the dialogue – it is really moving. Can’t wait for their final session! PPS

    12. I’m an ass woman myself :D Hee hee…Um…this was great!…what the hell? This chappy is majorly fine…but…uh…but…uh…no buts…nagster!…nag!…bring it on! whatever you have to give…

    13. I just remembered: Jiffy Pop Jiffy Pop the Magic Treat…As much fun to make as it is to eat! Heheh…um…gots to take my little tiger to bed now… :)

    14. Well, I’m on the same page as Tina. I have to say that the Melvin-on-the-phone scene with JB’s white-stripey-pj-clad ass was a highlight of the series for me. Now, let’s get Bette moved on with Steve, and get the Bette & Tina show on the road!

    15. So Tina is really struggling with this thing with Bette. Shane is so wrong about Bette not doing relationships. She did not do them until this one therapist entered her life. I have a feeling that Bette is willing to settle down once she and Tina are able to go out together.

    16. awesome chapter sorry it took me so long to catch up. total enjoyment thanks for posting cant wait to see wha this appointment brings these two love birds lol thanks again pps
