Jill saw the far away look in Tinas eyes, the longing, the love for her partner as she gazed at the woman beside her, “well I have only just met you guys, but on first impressions, it looks to be me like youd make really great moms”
Tina looked back at Jill and smiled, “thank you” her eyes saying so much more than the simple words, her look was met with understanding and something else that Tina couldnt quite decipher
“Hey T?” Bette called over from in depth conversation with Emily.
Tina looked over, acknowledging with her eyes the calling.
“Do you have one of my business cards in your bag?” Bette asked.
“Uh yeah I think so, just a second,” Tina began the search throughout the cluttered handbag, smiling on finding the little cards with the name of her love imprinted upon it, she handed it over with questioning eyes.
“There you go pinky, when youve painted that picture, you get your Mummy to send it to me, or maybe she could bring you to visit and I could show you all the paintings in our gallery, OK?” Bette said to the child, who was looking adoringly up at Bette, her mouth slightly open, her eyes looking deep into the deep pools of the woman giving her instructions.
She was answered with a vacant nod, before the staring eyes blinked back into normality, “will you really put my painting up in your gallery?”
Bette smiled at the child she had so quickly become taken with, “of course, I said I would didnt I, Ill pinky promise if you dont believe me!”
Emily shook her head furiously, making sure the blonde hair flicked back and forth over her face for effect, “no, I believe you. Mum, will you take me to Bettes gallery when Ive painted her a picture?”
Jill rolled her eyes, “sure thing Munchkin, but we need to go now; I think we should let these folks enjoy the rest of their day without interruption, dont you?”
“Yeah, I suppose” grumbled Emily, not wanting to leave her new friend.
She got to her feet and went to lean over Bette to hug her, the movement startled Bette and she glanced at Jill, not wanting to reject the child, but having only just met her, not wanting to step over the line either, she was met from a smile from the childs mother so she gathered the little blonde girl in her arms and gave her a big hug, she gently whispered in her ear, “you be good for your mummy and just remember, just to your best, OK sweetie?”

This is a great fic by a brillant writer. LOVE the communication and the admittance and acknowledgement of fault by both parties, especially Betty, it shows her growth. This is so eloquently written.

Very romantic indeed.
I love how you can take simple words and turn them into this flowing story full of love. You have taken this couple from utter despair to the highest mountain and into the sea of delight. I have always loved Bette and Tina together and with the help of your story you have reminded me of the absolute love that a person can have for another. What ever seems to be thrown at them you have allowed them to work throught it and that seems to have brought them closer as a couple. IC and company should take lessons from your story telling. Then maybe they will treat Bette and Tina the way that most of us would love to see them.
Jo, as usual another fantastic chapter. If I remember correctly you left a comment on another author’s chapter calling her an ole slushy romantic. After this chapter I think that would accurately describe you also.

There are some chapters of a story that make your heart beat a little faster….there usually NC17s……this chapter just proves that it doesnt have to be NC anything…..to actually make your heart skip a few beats….no matter how many times you read it….Romance at its best!
