Bette quickly marched over and took the picture before stuffing it into her pocket. “I … took it by accident.”

The insistence was endearing to Tina, who simply accepted the statement. There was no need to redden Bette’s cheeks any further. “I’m sorry … I wasn’t trying to pry. It was just there.”

    “Yeah, I forgot. It’s okay.”

Tina took a deep breath, and then stood before Bette to try and realize everything she had shut out for so long. It had all been right in front of her. Bette had always been so selfless when it came to her, and that was when Tina really saw just how selfish she had truly been. So selfish. Without wanting to appear so weak, Tina couldn’t help the sudden tears clouding her vision. She tried to blink them away.

“Hey, it’s okay,” Bette started, always acting like she was afraid for the tears to start. She wasn’t sure what to do, but she always found a way to keep Tina from crying. She couldn’t stand the sight. “Come ‘ere.” She quickly took Tina in her arms, smiling when the blond snuggled in to her chest, and wrapping her arms around with a hold so tight that it satisfied them both.

Tina knew she didn’t deserve Bette’s loyalty and care, but it always felt so right. She tried not to think about her inabilities, her failed marriage and all of the sneaking around, because it only brought more tears. And worst of all, she wanted to cry for how she’d treated Bette through all of her pain and confusion. She knew there was a strong possibility that Bette would break it off with her because of all the hardship Tina had caused – she knew it would be well-deserved.

“It’s my fault about the picture. I know it’s stupid.”

And suddenly, it hit her – how  she’d treated Bette, as if she were ashamed of the other woman and not herself. She felt awful for all the times she hadn’t held Bette’s hand or really loved her back. She was sick with her own failings.

“I’ll get you some water,” Bette said, pulling back to head toward the kitchen.

“You know that I love you, right?”

The admission hit Bette so hard that she literally faltered, nearly tripping over her own two feet. It couldn’t possibly be true – that Tina felt the same, strong connection. Nothing had ever been so promising in her life. She couldn’t even turn around for fear that she might have imagined the words.

    1. Thanks for the update GR :-) … A bit sad to know this is gonna end soon.. I wonder where are you going to take us with this wonderful story. The way you describe their emotion is so full of details and its captivating! The way Bette struggle within is so emotional. And I just glad that finally they are together and more open to each other.. :-) looking forward to your next posting! Thanks again GR! ;-)

    2. I agree this chapter of the story does effectively describe the emotional states of the characters. I notice that Tina has apologized to Bette by admitting her selfishness. She uses the excuse that her loss of priority caused the pain and anguish which occurred in their relationship. What loss priority was she referring to? Was she referring to her marital commitment as being the priority she lost? If so this brings me back to my initial question .Why, did she decide to have the affair? Alternatively, is she referring to her selfishness of not fulfilling Bette’s sexual and emotional needs as loss of her priority? If so, she is confused. Making that her priority will be impossible to accomplish while she is still married to Greg. It is not wised to start a sexual relationship while committed to another particularly a spiritual commitment such as marriage. I also want to believe that Bette owes Tina an apology as well. However, I would need to have this additional question answered before I can accurately draw a conclusion. Did Bette know that Tina was married prior to sexually touching her? If so she absolutely does. Do your thing GrindRight!

    3. At first I thought you were going to reprimand me for calling you “the onion girl”. I was like “oh god not in front of everyone ”. It’s all good to me, I just didn’t want to offend you. Your Bette is a great combo of cute and sexy. Like a Teddy bear in lingerie  ok, no more analogies. Thanks OGR 

    4. I love your attention to detail you describe the little things that aren’t usually described I like that. And yes this is way different than your other stories, but I like all of your stories so it doesn’t matter to me just keep writing! Lol

    5. Love this story and so happy they have found each other, that they love each other and the great possibility that they can be a couple is just fantastic. Thanks for writing this story and I am enjoying their new found love. Thanks again.
