Hold A Place For Me CH.3

    Bette wipes her eyes, “Ok.”

Kit: “You know I don’t condone what you did and I’m not picking sides, but whatever you need I’m here for you.”

Bette: “I know….thank you, again. I’ll talk to you later.”

    Kit: “Bye.”

Bette enters her office and looks at the stack of paperwork on her desk, her stomach turns at the thought of having to concentrate on anything besides Tina. She sets up her laptop and tries desparately to bury herself in papers. She doesn’t get too far when James blasts into her intercom, “Bette…Line 2.”

She pulls her glasses from her face and sighs, picking up the phone, “Bette Porter.”

Bette: “Hello. Yes it’s nice to talk to you, too. Oh thank you. We worked really hard to secure that show, I’m glad it paid off. You’ve been one of our biggest supporters and I can honestly say we couldn’t have done it without you. Oh, you know us always looking forward to the next event. Yes, thanks for your call. We’ll be in touch. Bye, bye.” She hung up the phone and immediately called James.

Bette: “James please hold all my calls unless it’s Kit or…Tina.”

    James: “Yes Ma’am.”

The last thing on Bette’s mind was playing ***** kiss to the lot of LA’s upper crust. She knew the calls would be flooding in concerning the success of the Provocations opening, but she didn’t give a *****. They could all kiss her ***** as far as she was concerned. Maybe James would forward all the calls to Franklin then he could bask in the goddmaned glory. She got up and walked out to get a cup of coffee, but as she was heading back to her office Jame’s met her in the hall.

James: “Oh, there you are. Uh…Line 1 is for you.”

Bette: “I thought I told you to hold all calls.”

James looked like a whipped puppy, “Uh…it’s Kit.”

    Bette: “Oh….thanks.”

James turned and begin to walk away, “Yeah, sure.”

Bette: “James….sorry….I’m not feeling good today.”

    James: “Yeah, no problem.”

Bette: “Hey, Kit, have you heard from Tina?”

Kit: “Slow down there….yes, I just got off the phone with her.”

Bette: “So what is she screening her calls?”

Kit: “Bette, I don’t know I left her a message and she called me back.”

    1. Good update. Tina’s hiding out, but she can’t stay out of sight too long…just not possible. I hope Bette listened to Kit’s advice, because that’s the only way back to Tina. Please continue.

    2. Open the door and get the screaming over with. Bette should have never let her leave in the first place, course Tina should not have left. Nice choice of movie, you almost don’t recognize our T in it she was so young and butch
