Bette: “Hello….Tina…?”

Kit: “Hey baby girl, it’s me.”

Bette: “Hey, Kit, sorry I thought you were Tina.”

Kit: “No problem. Where is she off to today? Leaving my baby sister at home all alone.”

Bette really didn’t feel like discussing this with Kit because she knew exactly what she’d say, “Um…she’s uh….not here.”

Kit: “Obviously….what’s wrong? You don’t sound like yourself.”

Bette tried to find the right words. She knew Kit would find out sooner or later because she always did and she also knew Kit would easily drag the truth out if her.

Bette: “Kit I need to tell you something…but before I do, I already know how you’re going to feel about it so spare the lecture. Trust me there’s nothing you can say that I haven’t already leveled at myself.”

Kit: “Dammit! You better spit it out ’cause you’re startin’ to scare me.”

Bette took a deep breath, “Kit, I had an affair.”

Kit almost fainted, “You What?! Does Tina know….Oh *****! Of course she does….she left your sorry ***** didn’t she? My God, Bette, I cannot ***** believe you would stoop so low. I don’t know what to say.”

Bette was getting irritated that was exactly the response she didn’t want, “I think you’ve said enough.”

Kit: “Who was it, Bette? You know what? Don’t even answer that ’cause I don’t wanna know. How could you?”

Bette suddenly got quiet, “I don’t know.”

Kit: “Well, you better *****’ learn. Damn, Bette, think about what you’ve done and all you can say is you don’t know?”

Bette: “Look I could use a little support here instead of getting bitched out.”

Kit: “Well, what do you expect. I’m not going to lie to you and tell you it’s ok because it’s not. What did Tina say?”

Bette: “She cussed me out then left.”

Kit: “Well, where did she go?”

Bette: “I don’t know.”

Kit: “Well, what the ***** do you know?”

Bette: “Kit, look, I don’t need this *****. I refuse to sit here and let you make me feel worse than I already do.”

Kit: “Bette, I’m not trying to guilt you into anything, but you never wanna take responsiblity for things. You’d rather run from it and hope it goes away, but this isn’t just going to go away.”
