    Dana lives. And nothing is ever the same.

    Carmen: What’s on your mind?

    Shane: Carmen…

    Carmen can sense the tense nature of Shane’s voice and eyes.

    Carmen: What’s wrong?

    Shane: …Why can’t you tell me her last name…?

    Carmen: Wha…?  Who’s last name?

    Shane: …Robin.

    Carmen sighs and turns on her back, lifting her arms in a stretch and realizing this could become difficult.

    Carmen: Aww..fuck, Shane.  Does it really matter?

    Shane: Yes, it matters!

    Carmen: Honestly…?

    Shane: …

    Carmen: I made it up…

    Shane: Huh?

    Carmen: I made it up, Shane.  There was no Robin…there was no affair.

    Shane sits up in the bed, shaking her head.

    Shane: What do you mean you made it up?

    Carmen now sits up in bed.

    Carmen: I….I just wanted you to know what it was like for once, Shane.  That feeling of being cheated on.  When you went off with Cherie…it hurt.

    Shane: So you go and make up an affair?  To teach me a lesson?  I wasn’t sorry enough for you, Carmen???  Seriously, what the fuck…

    Shane now stands out of her bed and looks out the window of her bedroom.  Carmen slides out of the bed and walks up to her.  Shane begins to turn around.

    Carmen: It wasn’t the best id-

    Shane: Fuck!!

    Carmen freezes up.

    Shane: I can’t….I can’t do this.  You’re driving me insane…

    Carmen: Shane…

    Shane: No, Carmen…I can’t…I’m sorry.  I can’t do this anymore….

    The reality begins to set in on Carmen.

    Carmen: …You’re breaking up with me?

    Shane pauses for a moment.

    Shane: …I got an appointment over at the Wax in a little while.  I should go on-

    Carmen: You’re breaking up with me???  Over that???

    Shane: All you do is punish me, Carmen!!!  It’s never enough!!!  I can’t do this, Carmen!  This isn’t who I am!!!

    Carmen’s voice sounds more and more hurt with each word.

    Carmen: Then…what are you, Shane…?

    Shane: ….Someone who can’t give you the love you’re looking for.  I tried, Carmen….but….I can’t do this.

    Shane feels her own sense of defeat.

    Carmen: We can work this out…

    Shane looks down, shaking her head.

    Shane: No…we can’t.  The last thing I need right now is this…contentious relationship bullshit.

    Carmen wipes away a tear.

    Shane: I’m gonna go now…and take care of my appointments…then head over to the hospital, where I should be.

    3. I see a Lara & Carmen thing happenin’, something you strongly hinted at in ‘Mystical’. Also a Bette & Helena pairing? Can’t wait. Great start.

    4. Nice job and start, I can’t wait to read how this new perspective on everything develops. I agree with all comments so far, can’t wait to see how the cliffhanger with Lara goes on…does she even know what’s going on? Is it Carmen to the rescue? I didn’t really warm to the idea of the two of them in “Mystical..” but who knows here now, considering that there IS a Danish ‘ship, however that manifests itself. Will there be any Lara and Dana (and Alice for that matter) resolution? Or will they just form a threesome? lol. I loved “Mystical…” and thnk I will be loving this too…keep it up and update soon!
