Time has a way of standing still when the inevitable moment of truth makes its presence felt.  Such is this moment in the mid-afternoon as the body begins to shut down.  They rush in to save her, determined to not let the Reaper take her away just yet.  To them, there is still plenty of life to live regardless of who or what feels otherwise.  And in this moment…she breathes.  With Dana’s body stabilized and resting normally again, the medical staff congratulate one another on a job well done.  She’s going to make it this time.

Alice walks down the hallway and sees various medical personnel leaving Dana’s room.  She instantly fears the worst.  Upon receiving the news however, she’s relieved, doing everything she can to keep herself from breaking down.  The tears that escape from her eyes are those of thankfulness.  Alice walks into the hospital room and sets down the bags of items she had just purchased at the gift shop.  Feeling Alice’s right hand gently stroke at her forehead, Dana groggingly opens her eyes.  Alice’s smile brings one to Dana’s face.

Alice: Hey….you almost had me worried there for a minute.

Dana’s voice is almost at a whisper.

Dana: …Sorry, Al…

Alice: Remember…you can’t leave without me.

Dana: Don’t worry…I’m not going anywhere…

Alice begins to choke up as she laughs.

No one knows just how close Dana was to leaving the realm of the living that day and as far as Alice was concerned, there was no need to alert anyone.  As the days began to pass, something remarkable began to occur inside Dana’s body.  Some may call it a miracle.  Others may call it a medical anomally.  But for the cancer inside of Dana’s body, it was simply a departure in its receeding.  It would only be a matter of time before it was gone.  Dana’s friends would be there for her as always, even the ones who had their own issues to work out.

Where happiness lies in Dana surviving, there is paranoia for Shane as she lays in bed with Carmen, her girlfriend.  Shane’s arms are crossed as she looks on at Carmen, who opens her eyes, draping her right arm over Shane’s left.
