    Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 28

Lyndsay was at a loss for words…….

“Lynds….did you hear what I said”

“Yes I heard you. Why did my Dad call you? I didn’t tell my parents about us yet….I didn’t get the chance to.”

Angie took a deep breath to calm her nerves. “He called about the delivery of the pieces he purchased last week. Apparently it’s a gift to your mother.”

Lyndsay laughed. “I get it now. You were probably panicking thinking that he was calling because I had told them about us.”

Angelica didn’t see the humour in this conversation. “So if you haven’t told them yet, what are you waiting for?”

“I was just about to when my Aunt called and Mom ended up on the phone with her. I will tell them tomorrow morning. I promise.”

Angie relaxed a little knowing that the phone call she just had with David, really was about the delivery and Lyndsay’s artistic talent after all. The two talked for a few more minutes, then Angie indicated that she was just about to head home for the night. Lyndsay indicated that she would call Angelica the next day after she talked her parents.

    The next morning…….

Lyndsay woke up after a restless night. Try as she might, she couldn’t get out of her mind the impending discussion with her parents. It was not one she was looking forward too. This was as bad as the night she had informed her Dad that she was not pursuing law school, but had chosen to follow her passions for design instead. It was her Mom who had acted as peacemaker that night, but this time she feared that she would be on her own as she informed them of her life altering decision.

Looking over at the clock she saw that it was nearing 6AM, so she decided to work off a little stress and go for a quick run before breakfast. Gathering her running gear she got changed and headed downstairs where she found Charley sitting at the base of the stairs waiting for her….with his leash in his mouth.

“And where do you think you are going?”

Charley stood and circled around a few times to indicate his excitement. Lyndsay took the leash from his mouth and fastened it to his collar, then proceeded to head outside with the dog for her run.

    5. Oh gosh, seems that Lynds got all that out in her breath. I can just imagine the looks on her parents faces, especially her father. Hopefully they won’t give her a hard time about her feelings for Angie. It will take some thought on their parts however. Can hardly wait. PPS

    6. WEll good for her, nothing like just stating it matter of factly. I’m very proud of Lyndsay. Now lets see how the folks react. Maybe Angelica should deliver the painting in person.

    7. Tazzie, what an interesting chappy. Glad to hear that Lindsay finally got the guts to tell her parents. We laughed at Angie’s panic, due to Linds’ dad calling her about the art piece he had gotten. We cannot wait to see Lindsay’s parents reaction. Hmmm If they have backed her up all her life, we do not foresee any trouble at all. Let us see what you’ve got inside your sleeve to share with us. PPS Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)
