    Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 28

Angie took a deep breath to help her stay calm, cool and collected. Secrets….he just said secrets, good grief Charlie Brown, if he had any idea what huge secret was hanging out there……..“I’m not sure what I can do to help you. I promised her that if she didn’t want to show her work that I would not pressure her to do so. If she has changed her mind, I’d be happy to review her collection and put something together for her. She is very talented, in fact I am fairly certain that she could do quite well if her other pieces are as good as the one I have.”

David was now the one who was confused. Just how was it that Angie had come to acquire this one particular painting from his daughter? He didn’t get the chance to ask as his door opened to his study and his wife who was now off the phone stood before him.

Quickly ending his call, he thanked Angie for the information regarding the delivery and she promised to call following the delivery to ensure that everything was to his satisfaction.

    “Who was that?” asked Barbara.

“Oh, I was just checking on a delivery I had requested.”

    “Is everything OK?”

    “Yes, everything is fine.”

    “Where did Lynds go?”

“She said she was tired and headed up to bed. She said she would see us in the morning.”

“Oh OK….I’m sure she was tired from her drive down. I think I will turn in as well. Are you coming?”

“Yes dear, I’ll be up in a few minutes, just want to check the score from the ball game.”

    “OK, don’t be long.”

Angie sat at her desk staring at nothing in particular. That was close. Just then her cell phone rang again and as she looked at the caller id she saw it was Lyndsay. Quickly picking up the phone she blurted out “Do you have any idea how stressed out I feel right now?”

Lyndsay wasn’t expecting that reaction. “OK…..hello to you too sunshine.”

Taking yet another deep breath, Angie collected herself……“Sorry…..hello. How are you?”

“Apparently I’m doing better than you. What’s wrong?”

“What’s wrong? Seriously? What’s wrong? I just got off the phone with your Dad. That’s what’s wrong.”

Alright….*taking off bitching hat* You are such a fabulous writer my friend. I’ll never in a million years understand why you needed a gentle nudge, because girl you have had it in you all along. This year has been quite a year hasn’t it? I’m so proud that this was your year to shine. Never change Audie, and always…always be your creative and wonderful self. *cheers* xo PS: Hiya to P.

    5. Oh gosh, seems that Lynds got all that out in her breath. I can just imagine the looks on her parents faces, especially her father. Hopefully they won’t give her a hard time about her feelings for Angie. It will take some thought on their parts however. Can hardly wait. PPS

    6. WEll good for her, nothing like just stating it matter of factly. I’m very proud of Lyndsay. Now lets see how the folks react. Maybe Angelica should deliver the painting in person.

    7. Tazzie, what an interesting chappy. Glad to hear that Lindsay finally got the guts to tell her parents. We laughed at Angie’s panic, due to Linds’ dad calling her about the art piece he had gotten. We cannot wait to see Lindsay’s parents reaction. Hmmm If they have backed her up all her life, we do not foresee any trouble at all. Let us see what you’ve got inside your sleeve to share with us. PPS Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)
