Chapter 28
New York….
Angie sat at her desk, not believing who was on the other end of the phone. Lyndsay’s Dad who said he had some questions for her…….She couldn’t help but wonder if Lyndsay had told her parents about them, and that his call was not a social call.
Regrouping quickly, Angie went into business mode and answered in as professional a voice as she could muster given her level of nervousness.
“Certainly Mr. MacKenzie, what can I help you with?”
“Well, I was wondering about the recent purchase I made at your gallery. Do you know when it is scheduled to ship? I just found out that I need to schedule a trip to LA and I’d like to keep the purchase a surprise for my wife, so I wanted to make sure that it did not arrive while I was away.”
Relief was all that Angelica could feel at that very moment. “I understand. Just let me pull up the shipping manifest on my computer, so I can see what we have scheduled.”
A few moments later she relayed that the shipment had been scheduled for the following Friday which worked out fine for David, he would be back from his trip prior to that and the surprise for his wife would remain intact.
“So, is there anything else that I can help you with Mr. MacKenzie?”
“Actually Angelica there is. It’s about my daughter, Lyndsay.”
Los Angeles……..
After dinner, Helena and Alice said good night citing the need to get up early in the morning. This left Shane sitting with Bette and Tina.
“So Angie’s show went well?” asked Shane.
Bette smiled proudly, “Yes it went very well. I would have to say that it may have been her most successful opening ever.”
“Really, that’s great.”
“Yes, she and Meg have done a wonderful job with the gallery. I’m so proud of her.”
“We’re both proud of her,” stated Tina.
“Oh of course, I didn’t…..”
“I’m just teasing you Bette,” came the playful response from Tina. She still, even after all of their years together knew how to push Bette’s buttons.
Shane watched the interaction between the two women. Even after all of this time and all of the struggles, they were still in love with each other and still had that way about them that everyone just described as ‘they just fit’, there was no other way to describe it.

Taz, first of all I am happy for and jealous of you for having some R&R at the lake, secondly OMG will her parents just kell over LOL. Not only does my girl tell them that “he is a she”, but she drops Angie’s name. Way to get it all out in one breath Lyndsay. PPS :o).
I really hope you will post soon. I love your writing and can’t wait to see how you capture her parent’s reaction.
Oh no, me and Charlie Brown who is asleep on he pillow next to me, got all excited there waiting to hear Lyndsay’s parents reaction but instead you hung us out to dry & have gone for some r & r at the lake. Whar Lake? where? I feel like coming to hang you hang out to dry for that cliffee. Yes, Charlie Brown next to me is getting excited at the prospect of hunting u down too!!!! I’m sure the dad will get it; after all he had a thing for one of Ange’s mommas. PPS.

Here I come in to read this next chapter, all excited that I will have the chance to read yet another post before I go on vacation and you go to the lake right…figuring to myself “Oh goodness, this MUST be THE chapter!!!!” THEN…..*grumbling*….then you go and leave this cliffhanger!!!! Oh gosh, seems that Lynds got all that out in her breath. I can just imagine the looks on her parents faces, especially her father. Hopefully they won’t give her a hard time about her feelings for Angie. It will take some thought on their parts however. Can hardly wait. PPS

Tazzie, what an interesting chappy. Glad to hear that Lindsay finally got the guts to tell her parents. We laughed at Angie’s panic, due to Linds’ dad calling her about the art piece he had gotten. We cannot wait to see Lindsay’s parents reaction. Hmmm If they have backed her up all her life, we do not foresee any trouble at all. Let us see what you’ve got inside your sleeve to share with us.
