“One of the Seaworld trainers was asking people questions about the penguin, whales, and the walrus’s and I got the most right.”
“Really? Good job Eli, I’m so proud of you. I’m going to blow up the picture of you and the baby penguin and the one with you and your mom…This is great…tell me that safari place didn’t let you get as close to the lions as this picture shows.”
Eli laughed, “There’s no way mom would let me get that close to a lion, I used the zoom for most of those pictures.”
“Good, I’m going to want you to tell me all about these pictures.”
“I will if you want me to.”
“Definitely I can’t wait. I’m going to show some of these pictures off, they’re really great.”
“They’re alright.”
“Don’t sell yourself short honey. I look through photography catalogs all the time and I’m telling you these are great.”
“Thanks Bette…” The next thing Bette heard was Eli telling Tina what Bette thought of the pictures. “Hey Bette is everything okay at work today?”
“Yeah honey things are a lot better. I’ll probably be able to come home by 6pm tonight.”
“Cool. I’ll let you get back to work.”
“Okay tell your mom I love her and to drive safe.”
“I will bye Bette.”
“Bye honey.”
Bette couldn’t remember her life ever feeling so complete. She had Tina back, and her relationship with Eli felt solid. Bette scrolled through some more pictures before getting back to work.

Across Town at the Planet
Kit had just gotten through the morning rush and things were starting to calm down.
“Hey Paul I’m gonna be in my office if you need me.”
“Alright boss.”
Kit sat back in her comfortable chair for a few minutes when she heard a knock on her door. Kit closed her eyes and groaned. “I guess a little peace and quiet was too much to ask for.”
Kat sat back up in her chair and spoke a little louder. “Come in and it better be important.”

I was so happy to see you post…then I saw 6 pages I was like yeah! Melvin is coming around, I am glad Bette is not making it easy for him. He helped put a strain on their marriage all those years ago and he needs to own up to that. I am glad Bette is so protective of her family. Please post soon.

Yeah, Bette held her ground and again relayed the message that she was not going to tolerate his behavior towards Tina. Tina has finally become the equal to Bette in all aspects of Bette’s life. Loved how Eli went toe to toe with Melvin and won.
a very good chapter, i like the fact that Bette protect her family but Eli is such a charming boy and he will win the Melvin’s heart like he did with the others people. i really want to read about the openning and some love time i can’t wait for the next chapter!

The way you have developed Eli is absolutely wonderful, you hve made him such a great child and everyone, and I mean everyone loves him to pieces. Even old Melvin seems to like him. So happy that Bette had the gonads to stand up to her father and happy also that Kit gave him a bit of advice on that subject as well. Can hardly wait for the next episode in this story. LOVE, ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS STORY. Thanks.

Everytime I see a post from you, I get a big goofy smile on my face. I totally loves this story and your great writing. Eli was awesome with Mr. Porter and is that man retarded or what????? This post was a bit ‘heavy’, but very much necessary for the story, you’re a amazing writer. Post as soon as possible….PLEASE LOL.

Toribio, I simply adore this story!!! I cannot go into details for this chapter, there would be too much to say, but all I can say is that this chappy is one of the best you’ve written so far! Everyone is so much in character and there are so many emotions coming from the different interactions! You’re such a talented writer and the next post cannot come soon enough for me! I know I always say the same, but what you’ve done with Eli’s character is simply amazing! I love that kid! I’m also very happy that Tina was able to witness Bette’s standing up to her father, that’s the least she deserves, and that’s an understatement. And Kit’s so right: The first person Melvin should make amends to is Tina. I really believe that she took a lot of shit from him and it’s about time she’s treated like she deserves, not only with respect, but also love and gratitude for making Bette this happy! Oups, sorry about the rambling… BTW, I loved Kit’s argument to her father at the beginning of the chapter, that’s a hell of a universal argument! Well done, and many thanks!!! Ok, I’m done…
