Bette was shaking her head. She couldn’t believe they were having this conversation. The only people who weren’t actively involved were Shane, Carmen, and John. The last two didn’t know Tina well enough and Shane wouldn’t get involved in this conversation unless she was asked by Bette or Tina.
“Okay everybody stop talking about this. I don’t want T or Eli to walk in and hear this conversation. So please drop it.”
Bette heard ‘sorry’ from everyone.
“We just got a little carried away…” Everyone looked at Alice. “…fine I got carried away. I tease when I’m happy…” Bette gave her a pointed look. “…fine teasing is hardwired in my brain, but this time it was because I was happy. You guys are really back together…I know you still have a lot of stuff to get through but you guys are doing that thing again.” Alice was getting a blank stare from Bette. “You know, where you can’t stand being away from each other, sneaking off to be alone, stealing glances at each other, being in a crowded room but acting like it’s only the two of you…”
The softness came back to Bette’s eyes. “We love each other. I love her more now then I did before if that’s even possible…”
“It is, because that’s how I feel about you.”
Bette turned back to see Tina with her arm around Eli. Bette got up from her chair and walked over to Tina and Eli. She gave Tina a quick kiss on the lips. “Hi babe. Hi Eli, I didn’t hear you come in. Have you been up long?”
Tina shook her head and pulled Bette to her other side. Tina and Bette seemed to be off in their own world again. Eli smiled as he looked at his mom and Bette. He knew his mom was a goner and that Bette was right there with her. He was really happy for his mom; it was obvious to anyone who bothered looking that they were in love with each other. All their history and mistakes aside, Eli could clearly see the connection they had with one another…how they always seemed to be drawn to each other. When his mom first started going on dates with women, he was a little weary about sharing his mom with someone else. But as he grew older he noticed his friends all had two live in parents. He never paid too much attention to this because his mom was always there for him as were his aunts and uncles. But he did get the sense that his mom deserved to have someone to be there for her, a partner. So he stopped making such a fuss about his mom going out. Truth be told Eli wanted his mom to find this person, and they had come pretty close a few times but it didn’t workout in the end. But with Bette he could actually see Bette fitting into their lives. He noticed that Bette could hold her own against his mom, what he noticed the most was how happy they made each other. Eli was excited that he’d be seeing a lot more of Bette.

great update…on the first page though i think there’s a mix up with some sentences…like couple of phrazes got switched or something

I love this story….the pacing, the dialogue, the characters just the whole concept.
Your story is one I wait for faithfully. Drama I understand, but lets hope they go through the drama together and come out stronger. We wouldn’t want Eli to get too upset because his mother isn’t happy

This IS perfect Bette….oh I mean Toribio :o)) Another wonderful post, I’m really addicted to this story. Eli is so sweet, I loved “I’ll have whatever Bette’s having.” :o)) And the heated kisses between B&T are SOOOO great – and the banter is priceless LOL. More please :o))
well i finally caught up… loving this story… and i am so glad they are talking and taking their time with everything… and now that tina is looking at her options for moving back… wonderful… the way it should be… bette and tina together… please continue

Great update Tori but something happened on the first page several sentences were cut up and missing words and phrases and I could not put it together to make sense. To me those were essential. Great story other than those problems. Lovve Eli’s reaction to B&T being together. Please don’t make the drama too, too much they’ve been thru enough heartache and lonliness without each other. Give them some time to love again. Thanks again. Great story of reconnection and regaining lost love.

Oh no, Tina is looking into moving to LA and I bet Bette is looking into moving to NY. Sort of like the Gift of the Magi story line. Drama is fine as long as B&T along with Eli stay together.
