    The same person who gives us life, will truly be the end of us all.

     

    “Ashley! Good to see you. I’m surprised you made it though. I thought you might be too hung over to get out of bed.” The woman’s sneer did nothing for Ashley’s  good mood.

     

    “Wow Mom look at you, all cheery! Did you score last night?”  With one final look of annoyance, Ashley stormed off towards the conference room.

     

    After Ashley had made it several steps away, she heard a loud huff from behind, and then the clicking of heels proceeded to follow her.

     

                Walking as quickly as she could, Ashley took a left at the first hallway and stormed down to the last room on the right. Ripping open the doors, she saw two professionally dressed men already waiting. Not too much later, Mrs. Davies was heard entering the room.

     

    “Great. Now that we are all here, let’s get started shall we?” The man who had spoken appeared to be the oldest of the two, and he immediately took a seat next to Mrs. Davies. Ashley and the remaining man then followed suit, taking the two remaining seats across the table.

     

    “Okay, to start off, I really don’t think this matter needs to be taken into higher hands. I believe that we could easily settle this dispute right here in this room.” The first man, Richard, had bravely decided to open the conversation. Starting this was a risky move, seeming how it could effortlessly erupt into a possible World War.

     

    “Tell Satan over there to give me what is rightfully mine and we’ll be done.” Ashley was angry and in no mood to calmly talk this out.

     

    “You have read through our proposal correct?”

     

    “Yes Richard we have, and my client is not satisfied.” This time the response was from Jerry, the smart, well-paid lawyer who obediently sat to Ashley’s right. “We demand a rewrite of the statement.”

     

    “This is absurd! There is no reason that girl should be entitled to that much!” The evil mother finally decided that it was time to speak up. Ashley was not about to let her have her way.

     

    “It’s mine and I am an adult. You can’t  just take it from me!”

     

    “Your father never thought rationally before making a decision. Why should this be any different? Besides, you weren’t planning to use it for anything important were you?”

    2. Oh for the love of all that is green and leafy. Imagine my amazement and sheer joy at noticing two of my favorite fic’s updated in a row. First you, then complicated. But enough of that. I hate Ashley’s mom, and you’ve written her so well that I can’t possibly but hate her more. You make my heart ache for Ash and make me want SPencer to wrap the little ‘un up in her arms and make it all ok. You write so well that I’m actually gunning for these guys. Sheesh. Love your work. LOVE YOUR WORK!

    4. Nice to get a little insight into what’s happening between Ash and her mother. I really like how Ash melted when Spence greeted Paula and um, that better not be Aiden :( eeek!
