The Dark Side – (Chapter: Life, Death and a New Beginning)
Spencer shot an angry glare at Aiden before answering. “Martha’s dead.”
“What?!” Both men gasped. “Dead… what do you mean Martha’s dead?” Aiden asked glaring at Ashley.
“She fell down the stairs yesterday and broke her neck.” Aiden and Glen looked at each other again.
“Can two people who we both know, fall down the stairs breaking their necks be a coincidence,” Aiden whispered to Glen.
“I don’t think so Aiden,” Glen whispered back. I smirked, clearly hearing their whispered conversation.
I leaned into Spencer and whispered in her ear. “Remember Spencer, Aiden thinks he owns you. You are no more than property to him, he tells you to jump and he expects you to ask how high, he wants to continue to control you and your activities, watching every step you make. He wants to keep you away from people and he wants to keep you away from me.”
Spencer’s eyes began to glow red against her blue as I continued to whisper to her, fueling her anger. She grabbed a handful of my curly hair and kissed my open mouth hungrily and unabashed in front of her brother and Aiden.
They watched us as we wantonly made out in front of them. Then Aiden noticed two puncture wounds on Spencer’s neck when I knowingly moved her hair away from her neck.
Aiden glared at me, seething, “what the fuck have you done to Spencer you bitch,” he shouted.
I reveled at the aggressiveness in Aiden’s voice. “I’ve done nothing but given her the greatest gift she could ever want. I’ve made her immortal. She belongs to me now.”
“What… what is she talking about Aiden?” Glen frantically asked.
“Spencer’s a vampire now, just like Ashley. Isn’t that right you filthy bloodsucker?” A loud clap of thunder shook the mansion as the words spewed out of Aiden’s mouth.
Spencer hissed at Aiden’s name calling.
Again I reveled at his boldness and smile. “Filthy bloodsucker… hmm… I prefer Princess of Darkness. You know Aiden you’re responding the same way Martha did. She was aggressively angry when she realized her end was near.”
“Martha didn’t just fall down the stairs, you killed her didn’t you?”
“Oh she fell alright. I just helped put her out of her misery when she reached the bottom of the stairs. She was a threat to me. If she hadn’t become so nosey I would have spared her life. But you pushed her to get information for you about what Spencer was doing and who she was doing it with. You know, in an indirect way Aiden you killed poor Martha by threatening to take her grandson’s plasma source away if she didn’t help you spy on her employer. Tsk, tsk.”
