    A Vampire's Lament – (Chapter: 7-Confrontation)

As soon as we came to a halt, Spencer jumped out of the car to ask the nearest neighbor what happened. "Well, we heard some screams coming from your house and we called the cops to check the disturbance. But eh, they’re not here yet and two very weird looking young women entered the house not too long ago." A young man said with a heavy accent.

Two young women entering Spencer’s home and no one questioned them. Morons.

I think I had an idea of who they were so I knew it was time to confront them again. Without a second thought or glance at Spencer, we both ran up to the house despite the protests behind us.

It was a disaster as soon as we had entered her once beautiful home, a memory in the back of my mind lingering. There were broken vases on the floor and holes in the wall as if people were struggling in a fight. Spencer couldn’t cry, she wouldn’t allow herself to but bound to the love her family, it couldn’t be helped.

I saw blood splattered across the floor but it wasn’t much; just looked like someone was punched in the mouth or nose. We heard footsteps scurry across the floor upstairs, and Spencer stopped crying. Just as I suspected, two immortals were nearby and I grabbed the crying girl’s hand and slowly led her to the noise that was coming from one of the rooms.

This situation was bringing back too many emotions I haven’t felt before in such a long time but it was worse for Spencer since nothing this scary happened to her before.

We were hearing tears coming from a certain room and Spencer whispered, "They’re in my room…"

A soft voice unexpectedly thundered in the silent hall. "That disgusting bitch Carmen scratched me, mother. Will I become one of them, too?" There was a tall shadow now standing up and it walked forward a bit before blending in with the darkness of everything else.

"She didn’t penetrate your skin when you produced your secret ability. It is safe to say that you are not affected." The woman replied. Spencer and I were inches near the doorway and we wanted to burst through the door like mortal cops but Arial sensed our creeping intrusion.
