A Red Sunset
“Hey I should get ready” I said in the middle of wrestling Haley for stealing the remote. Juliet stared at me in sudden realization and seriousness. I regretted saying anything; I knew what was coming for me. A full high-class over extravagant make over. As strange and immature as my friends were, I loved them and knew them. Haley was the blonde who would do things on whims without thinking. Once she had just flown to Africa instead of starting at Yale as a freshman. She got back, ended up at Seattle University, and met me and Julie. She had said to her parents she went because she wanted to help the kids, but had gotten there and had forgotten to organize helping at a foundation, or change the money. They had to wire her money to get her back. After meeting us she had been instantly part of me and Julie’s friendship.
Juliet had been with me since high-school, she knew me more than she knew herself. She had seen me though every relationship had been with me when I broke down. She also had an extremely high fashion sense, and put Haley and me under her dress up appointments as much as she could. Juliet was the organization, I was the heart, and Haley was the fun.
“Oh.my.god. you’re fucking right” Juliet gasped as if she was having a breakdown.
“Language” Haley scolded.
“Get in your closet now missy, when is he coming?” Juliet ordered, ignoring Haley.
“Umm…five thirty?” I said.
That was when Juliet and I threw ourselves into throwing various outfits about my room, and Juliet had forced me to put on make-up. Haley had sat there throwing out random advice, and jokes. Once I was all done, I looked at myself in the mirror, and was actually pretty impressed. I was wearing a tank top with a red and cream pattern on it, and black skinny jeans, which gave the professional tank top a teenage addition. My hair was looked sane for once, and was done up in a messy up-do with a few of my ringlets hanging down. Juliet obsessed for a while and then they left, saying that it would be strange if they were here when he came. That left me with half an hour to sit and attempt not to mess up my hair.
