You Told Me You Love Me Part 11
Bette raised her eyebrows as she looked at Shane. Shane just shrugged her shoulders and continued to bite the straw in her mouth. Then once again Bette diverted her attention to Alice. Her cell phone kept on ringing and the blonde kept on ignoring them by hitting the reject button. As the cell phone rang for the twentieth time Bette’s curiosity get the best of her.
“Jesus Al can you just answer those calls? Who’s that?” Bette asked.
“Nobody.” Alice said. Bette wrinkled her face.
“Is that Jeffery?” The brunette asked again.
Alice just kept quiet and sipped her coffee.
“Or Gina?”
Alice put her coffee down and sighed.
“More like both of them.” Alice stirred her coffee never making eye contact with her friends.
“Why are you ignoring their calls?”
Alice kept quiet contemplating whether she should answer the question. After a while she decided to throw caution to the wind.
“It doesn’t work.” She said barely audible but her friends heard it clearly.
Bette placed her hand on top and Alice’s and squeezed it lightly.
“It’s ok Al.” The brunette smiled lightly at the blonde the reassure her. The blonde smiled back.
Shane looked at the interaction between her friends. She was glad that Alice was opened to date other people again and for most of the times the blonde really enjoyed herself at the attentions she received from her pursuers. But being Yoda Shane knew very well that Alice’s heart was still with someone else. That was why her relationships never lasted for more than 6 months. Seeing her friends smiling at each other Shane took the cue that she had to tell them what she knew about her other best friend who was far away from LA.
“Hey guess what I called Howie about three days ago.” Shane announced.
For most of the times they called Howie to update them about Dana because Howie told them her sister was feeling awkward answering their calls by herself. Not that Dana was rude but she still hadn’t had a clue what happened between them in LA. So they would call Howie and after the update Howie would ask her sister over to speak to them. Dana was always polite towards her friends and would take sometime off to chat with them, usually about how the rest were doing and about her career, nothing far from that. Not that her friends minded, a little conversation with the brunette was good enough. They were happy as long as Dana was happy. And there was progress after all. Their conversations on the phone were longer and Dana seemed to be more comfortable talking with them as years passed by.

I love the story. I am so excited that Dana is back in town. Now Alice just needs to walk up and be like hey um yeah its me Alice and its four am maybe this will bring back some memories. WAHOO. sorry i get alittle over the top some times.
I am not sure how I helped, but, I am glad I was able to. Great update. Love how Yoda was able to help bridge the gap between Alice and Dana – and it pointed out the connection that remained after so many years. That really is emphasized by what you said about Alice risking her happiness for her friend’s. And Dana is back. Yay!! Here is to her being able to get her memories back and hopefully make new ones with Alice. Thanks so much, uhhuh!!
