You (Part the Forty-Seventh)

Even Dana had to admit that it went well. She hadn’t stopped being nervous about it, but as soon as the cameras were rolling, she got so caught up in telling her story that all the nervousness disappeared. In a weird way, it was a little similar to how she used to feel right after she started playing a match. Beforehand, she’d always get so nervous that she practically made herself sick, but the second she stepped on the court all her anxiety melted away, and she just played without a care in the world. It was a little strange how similar the interview process was to that.
They started off slowly, going over her career highlights before getting to the cancer. Dana decided there was no harm in being completely open about what she’d been through, and she told as much of the story as she was comfortable with, including the recovery and the physical therapy she was currently doing. When asked what her future plans were, Dana was honest and admitted that she had no idea at this point, but that she was taking steps to getting her life back, including her commentary with Billie Jean King. By the time her five minutes on air were up, Dana barely felt like she’d been in the studio at all.
Still, it was a huge weight off her shoulders, and she was told by station executives that she’d receive a copy of the tape to look over before it aired…probably within the week. Elated, Dana decided to walk home rather than calling anyone. It was a beautiful day, and while it was quite the little hike she figured she could make it. After all, she didn’t have anywhere else to be today, and it wasn’t like she couldn’t stop along the way if she needed to.
She’d just left the little hot dog stand with a bottle of water when her phone rang. Shaking her head, she realized she’d forgotten to call Alice at all, and she was probably going out of her head with worry. “Sorry,” she said as soon as she picked up. “I’m fine, don’t freak out, okay?”
“Okay,” Alice agreed. She’d been worried, but decided to let it go when she heard the peaceful, happy quality of Dana’s voice. “I was just wondering if you wanted me to pick you up, that’s all.”

Bravo! I love seeing these two working things out and how much they truly love each other. Plus they get all the support from their best friends. I must say, the whole witnessing someone dying thing has to be the most traumatic experience. You really nailed it in Alice/Tasha conversaton. Your writing is so real. I often can picture the scenes unfold in my head. Thanks again for a wonderful chapter. Will Alice become really successful because of the chart and still drive the mini? Hope so. I am a little apprehensive about Tahsa though. Alice by nature is a caring person. I just hope that her love for Dana will keep her out of trouble. Can’t wait for your next post. btw, it’s water under bridge regarding “on the boards” last night. There is no need for apology. I was not even slightly displeased. Hope today is better for you. Can’t wait for you next post.
As always Muted you make me smile at all of your updates for our Danish. Sorry haven’t posted a comment in a while, but i have read them all and love your writing dearly. It always amazes me how i can see what you write in my mind. it is so much better then the show itself, i might not watch and just read your stuff instead :). ok, i’ll peak, only because of leisha though, keep up with the happy mood:) and the writing!
Perfect – as usual. Great to have you posting this story again as we need all of our Danish writers as you know that you are the best!!!
Once again my Sunday Danish fix, yay! Nice job in getting Tasha into the picture. Actually it’s kinda freakish how well you blend these characters into your story with close to actual storylines/dialogue from the show. I have to say your description of Dana’s eyes toward the end of the chapter just about melted my entire being, thanx!? Seriously, this story makes the actual show look like one big nightmare; I’m with Dana and Alice this has to be the reality…!
Babe you know I heart you and I heart this story, I really liked the was you got Tasha to open up a bit, I’m so loving my version of paws in this. I also loved the NC-17 well you knew I do anyway hehe.
I cannot express the excitement I felt when I saw an update. I haven’t quite had my danish fix besides watching my season 1 and 2 dvds. I’m so estatic about Dana mentioning kids with Alice. Too cute. Hope to see another soon.
hey, really good Alice & Tasha convo you created here. Very believable and real. Alice’s therapy sounds like a lot of work for both of them. Great great update!Nice to hear about your happyness in the private life department. Hope it works out for you. And hey, shut up about the ugly stuff, you’re silly if you think that. I just meant that you have a talent for words and writing and I’m sure talking as well. That also would have to mean you are charming and all the other stuff love and flirting requires, lol. So: good luck!
