Tina clung to what little control she had left and commanded her daughter to leave. That they would continue this discussion later but they had a schedule to keep. To add insult to injury she reminded Angelica that she was the one on vacation not Tina. She didn’t have all sorts of time to spend now that she has found her. That comment had effectively shut Angelica down, cut off the flow of conversation between her and any of the other women in the room. They all just stared.
Tina had looked once more to Bette, saw the defeated posture of her body and knew that she was hurting her. But she didn’t have what Bette was pushing her to give … not right now. She wanted Bette but not this way. There was so much more that had to be sorted out before Tina could even consider what Angelica asks. So much more between them had yet to be said.
With Angelica’s plea all coming so suddenly and out of the blue, Tina wondered if Bette might not be caught up in the moment. So caught up in the feel good moment that she said what was front and center, going with the flowing stream of emotions that came with finally seeing Tina after all this time. It wasn’t like the Bette she knew to go with the flow but it’s hard to predict what time and emotion can evoke in a person. All it did for her is re-enforcing in her mind that she should have said goodbye to Bette before she ever said hello again.

The speed that Tina moved in leaving Bette’s house could only confirm to anyone watching that she was in full retreat mode. She left so fast the all the girls assembled in Bette’s living room could only stare on in shock at how quickly everything has crumbled. Alice was left with her right hand held up in a feeble wave while Dana was caught with her mouth still open. Shane just stared down at her feet not happy with the sudden turn of events. She had hoped for so much more.
Bette herself offered no resistance to Tina when she ran from her house with her precious daughter in tow. It was the look on Angelica’s face that Bette held in her minds eye. That twinkle of conviction in Angelica’s eye when she challenged her mother was a look she had seen before. That sparkle that had been there only moments before evaporated at her Mother’s words. The look changed into one of defiance that looked back at Bette as she was hustled out of the house. Angelica just had time to look over her shoulder at Bette on her way. Angelica wasn’t done yet and Bette knew it.

awesome update! i like how that played out so it doesn’t seem like a spur of the moment thing. they both have to be sure about the future they want.

I’m liking this a lot. A bit far fetched but look at Sarah Palin and the whole story around her. No one would believe that it wasn’t scripted by Hollywood especially now that the mother-in-law to be was arrested for distribution of crystal meth. Who could make up such shyte?? LOL. :-) PPVS. Thx.

Oh oh oh goodness Jwet, I think you just blew a hole right through Tina’a bag of control. No matter how much she is not ready now she is going to have to change course one way or another. Come on, 16 years is a long time not to be a whole person and as for Angie in NY law will let her be emanccipated and she is a head strong little girl, so that could be a twist if Tina shuts down again. Please give Bette patients, I think she will need them. Thank you,Md
This is exactly what Tina wanted, for Bette to come and find her. Of course it was many years after the fact, but hey she is coming. You can feel Tina internal fight over her feelings towards Bette. On one hand the love is still there while on the other the pain of the betrayal is ever present.

Question: Does Angie really understand that Bette is her mom? I get the sense that it hasn’t sunk in yet and when it does, she may be a bit angry — I guess you need to add some drama, right?
