    Chapter 56

    Chapter 56

     

    Tina’s head was pounding as the pressure grew making it an effort to fight her way through traffic.  If she wasn’t so rigid Tina would notice the increase in cars as traffic gradually built picking up in intensity the closer the clock ticked towards rush hour.  Things were getting hectic from Tina’s view and they were still a half hour from the airport.  It had been a race to get to the hotel, gather her things and check out.  All the while Angelica has refused to get out of the car making Tina almost drag her along.

     

    Looking over at Angelica now, Tina knows they have to stop and talk.  She has said very little since leaving Bette’s house.  So little that Tina could feel the gulf between them.  Angie may be in the seat right next to her but Tina knew they were miles apart.  Taking her eyes off the road, Tina looks at Angelica.  Her head is turned away.  Letting out a deep sigh, this couldn’t have gone any more wrong.

     

    The last three hours could legitimately be called the longest of Tina’s life.  There was a moment after Angelica’s impassioned plea that Tina wanted to go along.  To give in and admit the truth that has been deep in her heart for as long as she can remember.  It would be the perfect fairy tale promise, that joyous happily ever after ending that she so desperately wanted. 

     

    It would have been so easy right then and there to go along and give in.  A part of her wanted to so badly.  It was so true she hasn’t been the woman she wanted to be, not for a long time.  It was only this morning among her friends that she felt the presence of that person still within her.  A person she would like to be again. 

     

    As soon as she found herself giving into that emotion her mind screamed for it to a halt.  A trapped feeling descended upon her pulling on her mind and betraying her heart.  This pull caused her head to dart from Angelica’s heartfelt face to Bette’s pleading one.  She wasn’t ready, she needed to breathe, it had gotten so hot in Bette’s house at that moment.  She couldn’t speak, she couldn’t think she needed time.  She couldn’t do this.  No …. No she had to get out of the house.

    6. hot damn, glad to see that Bette made it to the airport and gave a sarcastic remark to Tina… Now it’ll be interesting to see how the plane ride goes…. Will this be an opportunity for Tina to explain what happened to Angelica?Great chapter… Glad to see Bette running after her leading lady!

    15. I’m liking this a lot. A bit far fetched but look at Sarah Palin and the whole story around her. No one would believe that it wasn’t scripted by Hollywood especially now that the mother-in-law to be was arrested for distribution of crystal meth. Who could make up such shyte?? LOL. :-) PPVS.     19. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. been travelling today, got home a little while ago and just saw this. I’m also watching ep. 12, S5 and just saw Tina and Bette dancing. Beautiful!!!!!. Loved this chapter. Go Bette, don’t let her get away again. Loved your author’s notes. Can hardly wait for the next chapter or two. Been waiting for this one. Thanks for posting.

    21. Oh oh oh goodness Jwet, I think you just blew a hole right through Tina’a bag of control. No matter how much she is not ready now she is going to have to change course one way or another. Come on, 16 years is a long time not to be a whole person and as for Angie in NY law will let her be emanccipated and she is a head strong little girl, so that could be a twist if Tina shuts down again. Please give Bette patients, I think she will need them. Thank you,Md

    22. This is exactly what Tina wanted, for Bette to come and find her. Of course it was many years after the fact, but hey she is coming. You can feel Tina internal fight over her feelings towards Bette. On one hand the love is still there while on the other the pain of the betrayal is ever present.

    24. ok, Jwet… just read the last six chapters and I take back all the mean thoughts I had after reading this last one. I adore the last line, couldn’t have been more perfect. Hope you had a great Christmas.

    27. Question: Does Angie really understand that Bette is her mom? I get the sense that it hasn’t sunk in yet and when it does, she may be a bit angry — I guess you need to add some drama, right?

    31. I went through withdrawal from not reading this story. Bette – woman of action! Tina wants to be woo’d and only Bette can take her there. Angelica will not be denied again. Thanks and PPS
