Tina – And you work at The Big Bear, right?
Joanna – Owner.
She sends the blonde an unfriendly look.
Joanna – Do you want to leave a message for Bette?
The blonde shakes her head.
Tina – I’ll talk to her later.
Joanna – I don’t think she will be back at the ranch … any time soon.
Tina – I know my way here.
They exchange a cold stare and the producer leaves. The blonde unties Minnie’s rein.
Tina – Sorry that we can’t stay, Minnie.
She mounts the horse. What a fool! – she thinks with sadness. She should have known better.
Tina – What a stupid fool!
She presses her heels against the mare’s belly. Minnie gallops away faster than she ever has, as if the mare knows how the blonde feels.

Bette’s Cabin, morning: Bette walks out of the room looking sleepy. She raises her eyebrows.
Bette – What are you doing here?
Joanna – Morning, sleepyhead … about time.
Joanna stands up and walks over to the rancher, giving her a sensual hug.
Joanna – I miss you. We haven’t been together in a while …
She nuzzles Bette’s neck.
Joanna – … and you told me that you’ll soon be back to San Francisco.
The rancher yawns.
Joanna – Still sleepy?
Bette – I didn’t sleep well last night.
She sighs.
Bette – Who was here?
Joanna – Nobody.
She wraps her arms around Bette’s waist.
Bette – I heard voices …
Joanna – Probably my cell.
The bar owner kisses her cheek.
Joanna – I missed you … Not even a good morning?
The rancher smiles.
Bette – Morning.
She unwraps herself from Joanna’s embrace and enters the kitchen.
Joanna – I made coffee and pancakes.
Bette opens the refrigerator and grabs the bottle of orange juice.
Bette – Thanks!
She pours juice in a cup.
The bar owner approaches and embraces her again.
Joanna – Want to go back to bed?
She suggestively kisses Bette’s chin.
Bette – It’s late. I have a ton of things to do before my trip.
The rancher escapes the embrace once again and makes her way to the window, looking out at the valley.

So, Bette kissed Tina and then sleeped with Joanna? If not, how Joanna was in her cabin? Did Bette give all her fucking buddies keys from her cabin? So i think she’s sleeping with her. And in that case maybe for Tina better stay away from her – this Bette just a player

I think Joanna went to Bette’s cabin univited hoping to reconnect with her, but it didn’t happen. Apparently she also gave up, recognising that Bette has found love and kissed her goodbye. That’s how I see it, at least 😅
I thought about it, but how Joanna gets the key?
We’ll see, maybe later author gives up clearing about this
I thought about the key too, but hadn’t Tina found the cabin open too and decided to just wait on the porch, the day she “lost” Minnie? Maybe Bette never locks up the cabin’s door ????

This is why I said that it is fun to find out what the readers think. Zhenya, the first thing that Bette asks Joanna when she wakes up is: “What are you doing here?” And Joanna replies: “I miss you. We haven’t been together in a while.” This is a rustic cabin in Bette’s property. I don’t think she worries about keys. As Atritonia pointed out, even Tina got in uninvited at some point.

I love the parallelism between Minnie & Charlie and Tina & Bette and how you write as for a screenplay.
Can’t wait to read what will happen at the opening!

But i understood that Joanna wanted a Bette for breakfast, i would love that too ????

I haven’t commented on a story in awhile as I’ve been hiding as a silent reader, but I just had to hop on here and tell you how much I absolutely love this story! So much that I kept checking back frequently hoping for a new post and you never disappoint!
Can’t wait to see how it all progresses and I also like that it hasn’t felt rushed at all.

It seems Charlie has Bette withdraws also.. just as Tina is having in her dreams. The painting of her I think will make her forget all about miss trouble making Joanna and follow her heart.
We all know she will indeed make it to the opening and be drop dead gorgeous and I think Bette is not quiet ready for the fireworks because I’m not convinced that Bette left her an invitation.
I know if Joanna can see a difference in Bette than Kit sure has and knows who has make that difference. And seeing the painting backed her theory up. Mmm… thank you loved it and can’t wait to see whats up next.
