    Tomorrow – Chapter Twelve

    Chapter Twelve

    Bette Porter POV

“Shh, it’s okay, it’s okay, babe.” Bette had wrapped her arms around Tina the moment she had come in. By the tone of her voice on the phone, she had known something was wrong. For a second, she feared it was her who did something. But Tina said it had to with work and Ian and she just needed to come over.

It wasn’t easy, but Bette got out of the gallery immediately. It annoyed James and others who work there, but all she could thing about was her girl who was sounding so terrible.

“Why did he do this?” Tina sobbed.

“He’s just a jealous bloke. Don’t worry, we’ll get out of this. We’re going to kick some ass prooving you didn’t do a thing.”

“Thank you so much for believing me.”

“Of course I believe you. You are so kind and so gentle, Tina, you wouldn’t harm a soul. There is no way possible you would do this to anyone.”

“My boss isn’t that convinced. He trusts Ian Hornby more than me, and I’ve been working for him for so long while he doesn’t even know Ian. Just because he’s got a reputation… I can’t believe it. I had never thought he would be so mean.”

“This is why I’m not into guys… they can be so stupid! So you rejected him, and he does this? I cannot put in words how it disgusts me. Do you want some coffee?”

    “That would be great.”

Bette went to the kitchen. She was furious, nobody was to harm her Tina! That fucking asshole had to stay away from her girl and she would make sure he didn’t come anywhere near her.

She made some coffee and went back to the living room. She took a seat next to Tina and held her close again, kissing her brow.

“Tina, it’s all gonna be okay. We’re gonna proove Ian is a filthy liar and you are sure as hell going to keep your job. That Rebecca will stand no chance, who will trust her? She’s at the beginning of a career she just ruined.”

“Ian can pay the best lawyers in the country. I don’t have that kind of money.”

“You don’t need that. You are innocent.”
