‘I understand. But why did you freak out again before you left?’
‘Well she knew my name and where I work so I assume she found our address that way. When I came home and went to my room there was a statue on my desk. The statue I wanted to steal and left behind when I fled. She was here Shane and I had to take care of her.’
‘Tina please don’t tell me you killed her’
Shane looked shocked but not as shocked as Tina
‘SHANE!!! Of course not! Have you lost your mind? I just wanted to bring the statue back and tell her to either call the cops or back off.’
‘Since you are here I assume she will back off? If you scared her like you scared me I wouldn’t be surprised!’
‘Uhm…actually…’
‘What is it?’
‘I…well…I…’
‘OH MY GOD!!! Tell me already!’
‘I have a date tomorrow night….with….Bette Porter!’
‘You are kidding me!?’
‘No?’
‘You are fucking kidding me…are you serious? You break into her apartment and she asked you out? This woman is full of surprises!’
‘Yes she is indeed.’ Tina said dreamily.
Bette’s apartment
Shortly after Tina had left Bette’s phone rang
‘Hello?’
‘Hey Bette! What’s up?’
‘Hi Al…how are you?’ Bette asked annoyed
‘Good good…so tell me…did you find blondi?’
‘You could say that…’
‘How cryptic! Tell me…have you talked to her yet?’
‘Yes I have’
‘And how did it go?’
‘A bit bumpy at first, thanks to you, but I was able to convince her that you are just a mad woman who happens to be my best friend!’
‘What is that supposed to mean?’
‘That she thought all of this shit you made up about me on your fucking chart is true!’
‘Please don’t tell me you did what I fear you did’
‘Yes I have! She is very special and I want to get to know her better.’
‘Great…just great! She will tell Shane and then the shit will hit the fucking fence! Thank you very much my friend!’
‘Alice don’t start a fight you will definitly loose!’
‘Okay okay but I hope you have at least a date with her’
‘Yes I have a date with her. Tomorrow night at my place’
‘My my…Porter! You are not wasting much time, do you?’
‘Shut up Al’
‘So tomorrow lunch at the planet?’
‘Sorry but I have to plan a date, go to the grocery store and pick an outfit. Tomorrow will be very busy.’
‘Totally wrong start!’
‘What do you mean?’
‘You start with neglecting your best friend…not a good idea!’
‘You know what…you are right. I should have started much earlier to neglect you. Maybe it could have spared me a lot of headaches!’
‘Very funny Porter!’
‘Good night Al’
‘But…’
Click….and the line went dead.

jay…so very jealous of the Pink concert..I adore her and unless I go somewhere else in the world I have no idea when I will be able to see her. She is definitely not in the States this year. Great chapter and bring on the date…pps

I like your story a lot. I hope you will have time to write a new chapter soon. BTW I don’t think it was wrong to go to a concert. Maybe your back would have appreciate the comfort of a couch, but now you have definitely enough wonderful memories to go through therapy. I wish you all the best.

Wrong to go to a Pink concert, NOT. How could that be, your back was going to be bitching at you anyway and regardless of the price of the ticket you still had a priceless experience, so says Md. Loved Bette’s ‘neglecting your best friend’ comeback, made me laugh! Always fun to read this story!!! … I’m a Pink fan too and can understand your excitement to go to her concert, but you’ve got to take care of yourself! (said in my stern nurse voice *grin*).
I’m shocked that Tina told Shane the truth. I love Alice, she is so funny. It’s nice to see Bette excited about her date with Tina. I hope Bette wears a HOT, little SEXY black dress. Delicious, Tina would not resist her. Good post. Continue, I am enjoying the story.
Hey Jay – Hope you hang in with your back — they are stubbornly slow to heal (and dancing/jumping don’t tend to help :>) – but heck who could resist for Pink!!!) I am anxiously awaiting “the date” between our lovely thief and art collector — there should be a lot of fireworks. So Shane had no idea what Tina was doing – that would be shocking. I still think that Bette will ultimately be the thief of Tina’s heart! More soon please…

Hi Jay! Wow! It was great to learn you had the chance to go to a Pink concert. That woman is a wonderful performer. We completely understood your enthusiasm. However, you also have to take care of your back, sweetie. Go easy on that. Health cannot be replaced with anything, dearest friend. Please keep it cool. We want to have you around for the longest time! As for the story, all the scenes you brought to life were fantastic. Tina’s confession to Shane about her “secret life” was really needed, as she shares a room with her. Bette’s reaction to Al’s comments was an absolute hoot. We laughed so hard when Bette cut the phone convo with her. Can’t wait for your next chappy. Get well soon, dearest friend.
