The Therapist/Writer and The Tennis Player

He grabbed his stomach. “I started working out after I met this new girl, who I’m happily married to now. But that chick Daisy had me so messed up that I saw a therapist. He helped a lot and I thought to myself, ‘Hey I wanna help people like that.’ So I went back to school and became a couples therapist.”

“You’re such a nice person.” She looked around his office. He had a lot of posters of brains and hearts. His office phone rang and startled Dana. He answered it, “Yes Charolette?…She is? How’d she get in?…Okay.” He hung up the phone. As soon as he did a woman came bursting through the door in a rush.

“Sorry Doc, but this is an emergency.”

He got up. “Alice, you’re not supposed to be here unless you call first.”

“I know, I know but” She reached into her pocket. “I need you to read this.”

He grabbed the paper from her hand and read it slowly. After he was done reading it, he looked up and said, “She told you this personally?”

“No.” She grabbed the paper back from him. “That crazy bitch is fucking suicidal.”

“Alice, we did I say about swearing?”

    “Sorry, that bitch is suicidal.”

    “Alice.”

    “What?”

He sighed, “Anyways, who did she tell this to?”

“Marco, after all they were dating.”

“I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with this girl, nothing works on her. I gave her anti-depressants, I did trauma treatment, I’ve done too many things to count.”

“I’ve talked to Marco about this, he said he misses the chick. I asked him if he missed her so much, why doesn’t he back together with her. He said he doesn’t know.”

“Well, Marco’s the source of this problem. Do you know where Felicia is currently?”

“No offense Doc, but can’t you read? It clearly says on the note that she’s on suicide watch at the local prison.”

He rubbed his temples. “Well, see if you can get Marco back with Felicia. I think that’s the only thing I haven’t tried, maybe it’ll work.”

“I’ll try.” She looked at his desk and saw Dana sitting across from it. “Another patient?”
