    “Um, no.”

“Are you sure?” The receptionist said with an irritated voice.

“Yes ma’am Look, you can call him out of his office, he knows me.”

“Sorry Miss, but he’s not in.” The intercom next to the woman boomed with a man’s voice. “Charolette, get me a coffee espresso.” The woman pressed the button on the intercom. “Yes Mister Vince.” She looked up, rolled her eyes, and sighed. “Mister Vince, there’s a woman here to see you, but she doesn’t have an appointment.”

    “What’s her name?”

    “What’s your name?”

“Oh, um, Dana Fairbanks.” The woman pressed the intercom button again. “A Dana Fairbanks, sir.”

“Dana FairSend her in, send her in.” The woman pressed a button on her desk, which opened a door behind her. She pointed with her pen and said, “He’s back there, second door to the left.” Dana walked through the door and it shut as soon as she did. She walked down the narrow hallway. When she got to the door, she opened it slowly.

She was greeted by a tall man with dark brown hair and a kind voice. “Dana! It’s so nice to see you after so many years. God, you look different.”

“Hi Kyle, you’ve gottentaller! Damn, I used to be taller than you.”

“Yeah well times change, people change, yadda yadda yadda. So, what’s tennis like?”

“What do you mean, you used to play it.”

He sat down at his desk. “Yeah, but it’s been so long. I haven’t played since tennis camp. Oh, how rude, please sit.” He pointed at the desk across from him.

    Dana sat down. “Why not?”

“Busy with work, do you realize how hard this job is?”

“No, but I can imagine.” She read his name tag. “So, M.D. Kyle Vincecouples therapist?”

He looked down and grabbed his name tag. “Yeah, after what’s her face dumped me, Daisy, I turned into a woman.” Dana raised her eyebrow in confusion. “No, hypothetically I turned into a woman. I kept eating and eating and gained a good thirty pounds. I was a total train wreck.”

“You don’t look like you gained weight. It looks like you lost weight.”
