Carmen is feeling the embarrassment, hiding her face in my back, remembering our hickeys… not to mention we are still in our super lover costume.
“Be right back.” I say. We disappeared upstairs and reappeared shortly, properly dressed, well with shirts and jeans at least.
“We can still see your matching hickeys, guys!” Alice teases.
“Don’t be jealous, Al.” I shrug and point a finger at her. Carmen giggles beside me.
“Good to see you together again! Shane was so depressed without you, Carmen.” Helena says.
“Yeah, she was driving us nuts!” Jenny adds.
I look at her with my puppy dog eyes, pretending to look sad.
“Aw… you are so adorable.” She gives me a quick peck on the lips and we head toward the kitchen.
Carmen is heating up some food for us. I never let her out of my embrace, snaking my arms around her from behind at all time. This is my favourite position, maximum contact, minimum gap.
“Shane, this is sweet but we are walking like two zombies!” She protests.
“I am making up for the lost time.” I nuzzle and nip her neck.
“Fine, but it’s not my fault if I burnt the food. You are distracting me!” She giggles.
“I will eat anything now!” I giggle with her.
“And no more hickeys!” She warns.
“I’ll try but I can’t promise.” I can’t stop smiling anymore.
I wish we could remain like this forever.

Me and Shane, who would have thought we could be like this ever again. I mean – utterly and happily in love. Not me.
Her lips, her nose, her cheeks so close to mine, my ear, my neck… just one touch from her is enough for me to surrender to her demands.
If this is a dream, please don’t let me wake up, because being with her, I am complete.

We join the guys later after we ate and watch another movie with them.
Carmen settles comfortably in my lap. I wrap my arms around her neck, resting my head on her shoulder.
“Is this really real?” I have to ask.
“I hope so.” She replies softly. I swear her smile is contagious.
We are drowning in each other’s eyes and can’t seem to stop kissing either.
This feels right, being here with her and our friends.
My prayers are finally answered.
This is just the beginning of a new chapter of our lives – together.
