The Other Side of the Game Part 3
Monday Morning ***
[Radio playing softly]
I got your love
You need to look no further
Dont you know that?
Dont you know that?
Candace slowly opens her eyes to the smooth serenading of Luther Vandross coming through the radio.
[Radio]
I dont make no promises I cant keep
And promised myself that Id love you forever
How many times must I say that?
For you to understand the real thing
Ah, there is nothing like old skool Lutha to wake you up on a Monday morning, thinks Candace as she sits up, stretches her arms out, and turns her head towards the bathroom. Mikela greets her with a Good morning, and a smile. She returns the smile with her own and replies It is now. Laughing from Candaces compliment, Mikela walks toward the bed and kisses her.
Candace: Ummm (Mikela gives her another kiss) and it (kiss) just (kiss, kiss) keeps (kiss) get (kiss) ting (kiss) betta (kiss) and betta (kiss) and betta (kiss)
Mikela finally breaks away from Candaces lips and states: Ok enough with the kissing or else were gonna start something and I will be late for work.
Candace: (Pulls her down so she is sitting on the bed) So what, you can afford to be late. Your father
Mikela: Dont finish that statement. (Putting her hand over Candaces mouth)
Candace: But its true.
Mikela gets up from the bed and walks toward the dresser: Just because my father is a partner does not mean I get special privileges. You know he does not believe in showing favoritism.
Candace wants to respond to Mikelas last statement by pointing out that everyone knows Mikela is the pride and joy of Cyrus Michaels. The day Mikela announced she wanted to be an architect and follow in her fathers footsteps was, as he has said himself on numerous occasions, the proudest moment in an already proud papas life. Knowing that voicing this statement will only illicit an annoyed or angry response from her sensitive lover and ruin the beginning of a lovely day, she opts to just smile and jokes, Well then you better hurry up. Dont let me hold you up.
Mikela laughs and inquires: Speaking of being late, when are you going to get out of that bed, missy?
