Alice: I remember some of those parties.  I became "the girlfriend" whenever someone Shane wasn’t interested would talk to her.

Shane: Or when crazy exes would come along.

Alice: Like Lacey.

Shane: Christ…Lacey was a freak back then.  She’s not that bad now.

Alice: You work with her now, don’t you?

Shane nods.

Alice: It’s a crazy world, I tell ya.  But after that, Bette came along.

Bette: Oh boy…

Shane: Yeah, that was a great to watch.

Bette: Do I detect a note of sarcasm, Ms. MacCutcheon?

Shane: You were all over each other.

Alice: Shane was just jealous.

Alice winks.

Shane: Please…

Bette: Then Tina showed up.

Alice: Yep.  And out the door I went!

Alice laughs.

Bette: Well, I think we managed to salvage a good friendship out of it.

Alice: A very good one.  Tina was a babe, too so I don’t blame ya.

Shane: And then Bette and Tina were joining us for the wild ass parties.

Alice: And Kit!  Don’t forget Kit!

Bette: Yes…wherever there was a party, there was Kit.

The three share a laugh.

Alice: I tell ya….those days were like a feeling of lawlessness.

Shane: And we all hung out at The Planet….and drove poor Marina up the wall.

Bette laughs.

Bette: Remember when she used to complain about me and Tee making out in front of the cafe?

Alice: Gotta admit…that WAS kinda distracting.

Bette pauses.

Bette: …Really?

Shane: Just a little.

Bette: You know, The Planet’s always been a place of safe refuge for us.  No matter what was going on in our lives…we always knew we could meet up there and get away from the rest of the World.

Alice: Yeah…..then came Dana.

There’s a hush that takes over the room for a few seconds.

Shane: Y’know what was fun about Dana back then?

Bette and Alice look at Shane.

Shane: …We had a challenge.

Bette: Getting her to come out of the closet.  It was like pulling teeth.

Alice: She’d always have that deer in the headlights look at the parties we took her to.

Shane: I think it was kinda like shell shock or somethin’ for her…she was around a bunch of people who were happy being out.

Bette: And she was around Kit…who was happy being at a party.
