20 minutes later I am showered and changed and drinking coffee and channel hoping. Helena arrives wearing a grey jogging suit and in her bare feet
“You kind of get out of the habit of wearing expensive dresses don’t you “
“It’s a habit I could happily get out of “
“What you watching ?”
“CNN – just looking to see if they are covering Bette’s event tonight “
“Are they ?”
“No – its only 20 to 7 over there – I don’t think it will have started yet “
“You worried about her ?”
“No – she’s doing fine and seeing Ella with her earlier on really put my mind at rest “
“That child is her double “
I laugh “If someone had to give a dollar to Ella every time they say that about her she would be a millionaire before her 16th birthday “
Helena sits down, pours a coffee and grabs three chocolate biscuits.
“Does it bother you – that she looks so much like her other mommy ?”
“No – when we picked the donor we both knew the consequences – I love that she looks like Bette”
“Think she’s like Bette in other ways ?”
“She likes her own way but that’s because she is spoilt silly.”
“If the First Daughter cannot be spoilt its bad “
“She is – and she adores you and Peggy “
“Its mutual “ Helena smiles and eats one of her biscuits “There are a couple of things that I need to tell you “
“Fire away – I hope that our friendship isn’t going to be spoilt by the fact that you are my chief of staff and have to look after me and protect my ass “
“I enjoy it – its been a real buzz and its reminded me that running the Foundation isn’t really enough for me – I want a little more action “
“Well you will get it as my Chief. I am loving this trip Helena – and there is the possibility of a few more in the next few months – are you up for that ?”

Tina was right, Alana just doesn’t want the responsibility and Helena doesn’t see it, yet.
