The Gathering 01.96 – Like Me Now? – Introduction of the King pt 3
“Oh they are kissing!” Jesse yelled as he ran into the room; then right back out again into Sam’s arms. “EWWWW!” He yelled into Sam’s ear and she grimaced as she covered his mouth gently.
“Stop it or no cake.”

It was Jesse’s fourth birthday and Lara and Jayden had moved into the house next door. Jesse was a smart, well adjusted youngster who was always taking things apart and then putting them back together again, wrongly.
Jayden took care of Jesse when Sam and Shane worked; she was also starting to teach him how to read; and small things. She wanted him to have every advantage he could. She and Lara were talking marriage even though it was now legal, they held off, enjoying just being themselves.
Bette had succeeded in getting Justin’s art shown, and he was now working on the set of his ‘Rage II‘ movie. His show had rocketed his career and he was also now working with other artists on other movies. Bette was a huge success at the Peggy Peabody Art Center, and she and Tina were thinking of having a baby.
Tina was in a great place in her job, now reeling in her own accounts and wielding a big stick and talking loudly. She was now the power ***** of the duo, and if they did have a baby, Bette would be the one to carry it.
Sam worked three days a week, 8 hour shifts and was always home at a decent hour. She had finally gotten used to the idea that she was a mother, in a way. She and Jesse would play games after supper, and Shane would have to pull them away so that Jesse could get to bed at a decent hour.
Shane too, worked a few days a week, the Earthling show was heading into its 4th season, and was a full blown success. Shane had fallen full tilt into the ‘I’m the ***** mother’ role, and Sam found her even more attractive for it. Shane enjoyed reading to Jesse, and taking him for long rides in her car, where he would point out things she’d never seen before, even though she’d lived here all her life.
